MMPI-2 Tier 2 Process

Happens bubba. At the end of the day the FAA isn't the end all be all. Plenty of people who make it to the Agency end up miserable in BFE

Seriously? What as the process like? I wouldn't mind a lengthy response lol
Yeah I hear ya. Im waiting to schedule my Tier 2 now and trying not to jump ahead but I hope not to end up in BFE.

Yeah, I'm looking into DoD heavily at this point. After sleeping on it, the main benefit the FAA provides is the pension. I make 90-100k working at an FCT and the schedule and traffic is cake. I'd take a small pay cut at first for DoD but the benefits are probably worth it long term.
You’re not going to take a pay cut in a GS12 position

I requested the appeal. They asked me to find a psychologist that handles MMPI’s. And you go to them and faa will send them EVERYTHING needed including your test results and data information regarding your tier 2 interview/testing. I did a full on IQ battery test. And that got me through.

Just got the official notice. I’m not feeling good at all about this process

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. As someone with prior experience also going through the tier 2 process, it’s very painful to have some outdated test tell you you’re not able to control. Good luck with everything going forward. Other people have had success with appealing, so that’s at least a small positive.

You can definitely get the appeal overturned. It’s going to feel super defeating waiting and waiting but it’s worth it
Thank you for the motivation man, it means more than you know. The thing I’m struggling with the most is they said it wasn’t one individual thing that DQ’d me. It was events that happened while I was in the service, a speeding ticket, and the answers I gave on my MMPI all put together that made them choose to DQ. Each thing on its own was “passable” but all of them put together is a no go, which I don’t understand.

To have zero disqualifying factors and get disqualified is asinine.

Honestly you need to appeal it. I have never seen a DQ not get overturned. I know so many people that have had DQ’s and all them were overturned. I do know the feelings you’re experiencing. The wait was the worse part and feeling convinced they’re right. But when you get the letter of overturn, it makes it worth it. I had to learn to trust the process to stick with this

Was the speeding ticket that bad? This sounds crazy. I'm so sorry brother.

Hey all I could use some pointers on some additional information the tier 2 team wants. Just got an email that they want me to clarify some marijuana usage that I hadn't disclosed it was after I submitted the sf 85 form and the 8500-8 form. Everything prior to that I was fully open with my history of marijuana use, this most recent one was just never was asked about until now ( I told my tier 2 evaluator about it ). Probably shouldn't have even mentioned it ha but I don't want to start lying now I saw no point.

Just need some tips I guess on how to structure it ha writing papers was never my strong suit in school. My idea is just type out my entire history of marijuana use even though they know most of it already, right?

I no longer use it now obviously if anyone is wondering just had a small stint over the summer.

Just be honest. As long as you weren’t smoking on a daily basis for 10 years and just quit yesterday you’ll be fine.

Just an update on my timeline:

Cleared Tier 2: 02/02/2022
Drug Test Refresh: 02/14/2022
Medical Exam Refresh: 02/18/2022

When would be a good time to reach out to RDC for an update on my medical clearance status?

He will reach out to you when your medical exam is processed. Mine took about a week. At that time you’re contacted by your HR who will maybe have you complete your CIL again (security) and then you wait for a list or class date.

Oh wow that’s a quick turnaround.

I just want to breathe a sigh of relief with the medical clearance and I’ll let the chips fall with the class date.

Finally just had my tier 2 appointment yesterday. Did a retake of the MMPI, another test then had a general discussion. I got flagged for answering “too honest” and 2 questions that I answered backwards by accident. After going over my previous test it was obvious to him I didn’t mean to answer that way and he made a note in the file. At the end he just said he writes up a report and sends it into the FAA. Everything was ok on my file and I shouldn’t have anything to worry about. After reading the previous talk about DQ even after the Dr said everything is good still makes me nervous.

How did they reach out to you to set your appointment? I am still waiting to set mine
