I was told ojti will be awhile by union rep but when they do start the facilities have 60 days to get to standard. OM sent out a text last week saying that ojti could start soon and reminding us we saw recallable. It’s a messI just don’t understand what natca is waiting for. The waters are getting muddy with reports of some facilities starting OJT and others claiming there are no plans and it’s suspending nationally. Clearly someone isn’t telling the story. To make matters worse, furloughs by national seniority would also be a complete disaster - but I’m sure natca will agree to something that further screws over those at home regardless of seniority.
The faa said that training iz starting as early as next week. Natca is so triggered their members are going to continue with their careers that they aren’t acknowledging it.I was told ojti will be awhile by union rep but when they do start the facilities have 60 days to get to standard. Precisely. I “passed probation” sitting at home. 1/3 of my time in was academy, 1/3 in a classroom, and 1/3 has been sitting at home. We didn’t even get to the EDST in our sims before they shut it down and sent us home. Sorry, but I’d much rather be working toward my certification than get “compensated” with extra time off that I can’t use until after I certify because it’ll further delay my training. If I wanted $45k to sit around and do nothing, I never would’ve left the job I had before getting hired by the FAA.The last time I trained was November 2019. So sorry I’m so pissed bro. I’ve trained 25% of my time as a controller. This is retarded
Everyone here just bitches that they can never get out of their tower so I thought if they’d contract it they could just go wherever.Every conversation reverts back to trainees getting screwed by NATCA. Solidarity is strong in you guys. Contracting out level 4-5 facilities is the key move to what exactly? Solving the FAA’s problems ?
I get it, you’re at a poorly run FAA facility. Unfortunately there are more of these than there should be. I’m guessing there are some other variables to consider as well: a change in the training department, a change in NATCA leadership, a change in procedures due to Covid. There’s a lot to consider here but hopefully it improves for you guys.Everyone here just bitches that they can never get out of their tower so I thought if they’d contract it they could just go wherever.
I was totally happy with the union until they showed 0 solidarity towards us for the last 5 months.
2 sources said that the telcon last week said that training is starting as soon as next week. Pending the end of the dentist mask trial.
there’s no memo that’s why we are all pissed
Idk they’d prolly say like training is turned back on but it requires ppe and no one will have the ppe. ?I don’t see how that is possible seeing as how even if the results came back positive today they’d have to find the ppe and then distribute it to every facility. This is the FAA, that isn’t happening quickly.
