I believe they typically do a rolling review until you start at the academy. They don't just give you free paid time off. I haven't been through it though. That's just what I've read on here.

The online interim class ended at the end of June. Now it's just online basics -> OKC.

if its public information for them and itll pop up in their background check, no need to hide anything. If anything theyll ask you about it and you can explain....if you DONT put it down then theyll think youre trying to lie about it

If anything you'll probably be in deeper sh*t if you didn't tell them about the misdemeanor rather than the actual misdemeanor itself. If it got dismissed you'll probably be fine. Just be open and honest about it.

Wether dismissed or not, it will show up on your criminal record with the disposition so honesty is the best policy!

Just got a USAJOBS email for announcement AAL-ATO-21-ALLSRCE-73575, and it's also titled "Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee."

I noticed it says AAL instead of FAA at the beginning, so is that a different announcement from the OTS bid that's expected tomorrow?

For anyone through with basics, is it typical to have a bit of a gap between basics end and in person academy start? I am scheduled to end basics 9/2 but I do not start in person classes until 9/13. I am trying to make travel arrangements but want to make sure that I truly have these 11 days off before I do.

I finished basics on a Tuesday and started at the academy the following Wednesday. We did nothing between when we finished our basics final and started in OKC

I'm not through yet, but I can tell you for a fact you aren't just "off" work once basics is complete. There will be 4 hours of review on zoom, and 4 hours of "self study" off camera. I do not know if this is every single weekday up until the academy proper, but likely.

Nah, basics was easy. The final was a bit rough, but I did way better on it than I felt like I did

Yeah our basics instructors didn’t even know we had a report date already on our last day lol they don’t know what happens after the final. I appreciate it! I’m in nonradar right now so it’s uhhh…going as good as it can be ?
