If you attached your college transcripts, do you think you would have gotten in? Given that you had a BQ, i personally believe it is highly likely.

If you put yourself into the wrong pool, while applying, does anyone think that could hurt me? I feel that I might have incorrectly labeled myself as pool 1. I got a BQ and I am just concerned this might mess it up!

If you applied as a pool 1 applicant but don’t qualify, they almost certainly will remove you from consideration once it’s discovered. You would need to reapply in the correct pool for the next bid.

You would imagine that a government agency has the ability to scan applications some how to see if qualifications add up.

If my understanding is correct, anyone who passed (i.e., anyone who got a Q, WQ or BQ) is referred to the ATO for employment. Then, the ATO decides which candidates they want to give a TOL to starting with P1 BQ, P2 BQ, P1 WQ, P2 WQ, P1 Q and P2 Q until they choose about 1,000 or so candidates, so those who got lower scores may be out of luck if they fill the 1,000 slots with people who scored BQ and WQ.

I highly doubt they will give out 1,000 TOLs from this bid. Especially because a prior experience bid has been announced (unofficially) for Jan. They're only suppose to hire 1,000 for the fiscal year and the Academy is running at reduced capacity.

Isn’t there something about the number of pool 1 TOLs being equal to pool 2 TOLs? Or am I mistaken?

It just depends how many are in each band and pool. I think they have to do half and half. It’s pure luck at this point.

RIP....another Qualified. I honestly thought I did well this time too. Wish I knew how they scored. The most frustrating part is that I feel as if I would actually make a great controller. I have so much passion in the aviation field and it just sucks to actively watch your dreams go down the drain. I wish I would have found this passion at a younger age to have time to go to school for this. Good luck to all others that received BQ, I hope you get to fulfill your dreams. I have already been referred so, I guess I applied to the correct pool. This whole process is a sham; all too confusing and frustrating!

How do you know that only 500 people are getting the TOL? It hard to see that picture you posted. Was there a place you found that number?
