Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-21-ALLSRCE-73599

Do the forms have to be filled out by hand, or can we do it on the computer using an electronic signature?
I typed on the contact information sheet, and printed it out, signed it, printed out the actual TOL, signed that, then scanned them into the computer and then emailed them

Guys how do you find out what pool you are in, is it in the TOL email? Thanks
No. Your pool is determined by whether or not you graduated from a CTI program. If you didn't study air traffic control in school, you're pool 2.

P2 WQ!

Are you all replying to the email that was sent to you to send back the forms, or are you starting a whole new email to the address provided?

It looks like the email that the TOL came from is the one they want us to send the forms to.

Not sure if anyone knows but do I really have to submit another SF86 if I already hold an active clearance for my current job?
Yes you will have to do it again but your info should already be saved in there.

Quick question, has anyone gone to the academy with a friend (same bid)? Is it possible to ask the FAA to give us a similar academy date so that we can take 1 car?
Lol what? Why? One drive and one fly if it's that big of a deal.... if you don't have a car stay on the shuttle route... the FAA doesn't care if you want to go with your friend.

Says in the email "Please complete the attached forms on a computer". So I take that as a yes?
Yeah, I'm filling mine out right now, and the email wording makes it seem like we can fill it out online, so imma just use a transparent signature that's saved on my computer.

Good question.

What did you guys do?

Type of appointment on TOL says “Expected Appointment NTE 13 Months; full-time, temporary.” Any current controllers or anyone at the academy, does it take 13 months to get through the academy?
Appointments of 12 months or less aren't eligible for benefits. They call it a 13-month temp appointment so they can offer you health care, TSP, etc. Actual Academy including basics is 3-4 months depending on Terminal or Enroute. But with virtual Basics and Covid delays it is theoretically possible (though very unlikely) for it to take that long.

I’m assuming they want us to fill the form out hand-written.

I did all my forms on a computer and used an electronic signature (wrote my signature with sharpie on a piece of paper and imported it to Preview using the computer camera). Wasn't an issue at all.

Do you remember if you replied directly to the email they sent the TOL from, or did you compose a new email to send your filled-out forms?

You can ask but unless you give them a reason other than convenience I wouldn’t hold your breath.

You’re also going to want to take your own car anyway because if you graduate you usually head straight to your facility.

I’m a prior experience military controller (4 facilities) but scored in the “Qualified” range. Am I SOL based off my score or do they take into account your experience. Not really expecting a TOL off this bid because of my score.

Scoring band is the only thing considered
