Your idea is great but unrealistic.

Any union memeber on a 114 full time detail (excluding president and vice president) shall be required to maintain currency in their atc duty. Failure to maintain currency will trigger an automatic vote from eligible members in the same facility (tower/up down) or area of operations (tracon/artcc)


Can't find 16 hours of time on position, you're out.

Currently we have SIX people that are supposed to get currency on Fridays (their friday) and use sick leave EVERY week.

Burning 416 hours of SL a year is impressive. Or maybe an exaggeration?

I thought the 114 details got to bank ALL of their sick leave each and every year. I know ours does. Haven't seen him in 5 years.

CR is more than likely the outcome of this. Personally I see a short shutdown that won't last past the weekend.

Hurdling towards April 30th with nothing but CRs in the forecast.
