Only a matter of time before they have to adjust these new placement rules. Black holes going unfilled and falling into Cat B faster than the academy is forcing people to go there. MAF needs 6 inbounds just to get to the projected national average and these places are only getting 1 or 2 per class. The controllers at the Cat B places are going to be waiting awhile for any help to show up.
What’s with the slants between facilities? I don’t get it.
I believe that means the people are undecided but have narrowed it down to those facilities.
 
It seems like if nobody picks it they move it to Cat A. Might be missing something but the new placement system seems like a huge improvement, doubt they will change it too much other than adjust the numbers a bit.

I’ve just heard they’re a spicy 6. Tough facility, but that is hearsay I guess.
A 6 that’s supposed to be a 7. Only got downgraded because half the runway was shutdown for a year redoing the cables for the incoming F35s.

I wouldn’t say it’s really hard, especially not compared to DVT. It’s not a cakewalk but not a facility to be scared to go to

According to the TCIP page on the FAA site AAP.faa.gov, MGM was a 7 but then COVID happened (Which is a bummer), but they are still working on recovering back to a lvl 7 hopefully. Looks like they were in between the breakpoint for a lvl 7 and buffer from 2020 to 2022 and then tanked (Prob due to that construction). They have been trending upward since summer of 2023 and are looking good for maybe 2026/2027 if they can keep the TCI moving upwards.

Isn’t it nice how the agency froze everything during Covid (even hiring) except the TCI?

That just goes to show how much the agency is out to fuck us in the end.
