You'll likely be able to apply twice more before your 31st birthday depending upon which month you're born in. If you aren't hired this time you'll be fine.I too happened to sign on to the site last week and noticed my status had changed to "referred." I wasn't really feeling all that confident after leaving the ATSA, but knowing I at least passed is a good feeling. This is the first time I've applied to the FAA, and will probably be the last I can ever apply for the position (I turn 31 in 2020). If it makes any of you feel better, it took me a year to get the last job and 3 years to get the job I have now from the time I took the test to the time I started the academy. The waiting game applies to all government agencies.
As for the MMPI, just answer the questions honestly. I've taken both the MMPI-2 (about 600 questions) and the new MMPI-2-RF (a little over 300 questions). I have no idea how the FAA does it but I had to sit in front of a psychologist every time who asked a few questions if any of my answers were conflicting. It's not really a huge deal at all.
The FAA does the MMPI via a computer. It shouldn't take more than five seconds per question or you are over thinking it and will likely fail for trying to be perfect.
