Terminal Class pass rate

Recent TETRA class in the last couple weeks also passed 5/5. New development on that side is they finally have their full-time Academy evaluators grading.

Yeah, the full-time evaluators are way stricter than the old ones. Someone lost half a point for not saying the 'to' in "vector to final approach course", IIRC. Also, we did our evals using the same problems that every other TETRA class has used, but they also had us run some new eval problems that didn't count to validate them for future classes. The old problems are frankly way too easy (as should be obvious from the pass rate), but the new problems actually added some decent complexity and conflicts, so the pass rate going forward may start to drop.

That'll happen when the graders actually know the airspace and rules about what they're grading. Sure wasn't the case prior to your class.
I've been seeing prior TETRA students already showing up on NEST placement lists.

PSC would be dope... I've never been to Washington state but I would think there's tons a outdoorsy shit to do. Get a passport or border crossing card and chill in Vancouver on the long weekends.

LGA area has washed 8/8 so far in the labs from OTS TETRA. Don’t know if any of the other areas have had OTS in classes yet. In my area we washed 1 prior experience new hire in the last lab class but have been 7/8 otherwise (all transfers). Our OTS trainees are rotting in CD/FD anywhere til this Sept through beginning of 2020.

Not really surprised by that first part tbh

Pasco is not like Seattle. eastern Washington is closer to a desert

Granted but I regularly drive 1 to 2 hours to do shit all the time. Camping, fishing, renting a cabin, getting to a badass disk golf course ect ect.

I understand different strokes for different folks and if you are young and are looking for big city living and nightlife you might not find it there but the older I get the further I want to be from people. I'd rather be in the woods and left alone.

I'm saying I live 12 mins from work out in the country, 30 mins from the big city with the thought that if I ever want to go downtown I'll uber / lyft or rent a hotel room down there and get trashed for the weekend (staycation anyone?)... But day to day I want to be close to work and away from people.

PSC would be a great first facility. Get your radar ticket and I hear the radar is being absorbed by Spokane, which is a far better place to live. It would be nice to get the paid move and raise that way. 2 hours from Spokane and 3.5 hours to Portland or Seattle Ish.

I've also heard really good things about PSC.

What happens when you wash out of in area? Do you get place at another. I hope we upcoming OTS can change the passing rate, I'll be giving it my all.

Pasco is actually not bad. It’s equal distance from Spokane and Seattle, as well as Portland. If you’re a wine enthusiast, lots and lots of wineries there. It’s the heart of the Columbia valley. I worked at one of their satellite airports and used to go there all the time
