Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

that dude hasn’t even made it to the academy yet
that's not the point. anyone that's been exposed to a negative and toxic work environment - like me - knows how stressed and unproductive and sometimes even dangerous the outcome can be. In the case of this happening at FAA facilities, nobody in their right mind wants to work in that type of environment. If you haven't been exposed to it, that's great I hope you never do. You gotta have EQ to deal with negative people

Internal ATC source says he heard they’re only taking the top 8% - I’m assuming he means from pool 2 but maybe also the top 8% from pool 1 which seems to have included everyone that got BQ, WQ and Q.

Pool 2 is much bigger though so the top 8% of two could be as many people as 50% of pool 1. Did you get referred?

Recommended to take the test again with a “well qualified” score ? Did not get referred. Not sure if I Want to retake the test with the chance of losing that category or not getting best qualified . I know scores are good for three years. I was referred last year with qualified but this year seems different as I was not selected with a higher score. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So far we haven’t heard from any pool 2 that got a referral without BQ. Who knows how things will change, but personally I’d retake it.

For those who got BQ referred, realistically how many collisions do you think you had on each collision section? I feel like I aced every other section but still only wound up WQ.

I think I had about 5 collisions. I felt like I aced almost every other section except the story problems. I guessed on almost every story problem.

I'm pool 2 BQ+referred. I think had 5-6 total collisions and I only answered around 10% of the math problems lol
Pretty much identical for me.

So 5-6 across both the non-math and math-sections or 5-6 on each section?

Also, do you think you did a good job at removing aircraft 'efficiently'? (i.e. fewest possible)?

5 total collisions across all sections. I managed to answer over 75% of the math problems early but gave up on it a few sections in.
I can only think of one situation where I did not remove efficiently. But I didn't care about that in the last several sections, when I cared I got collisions.
I'm sure I missed many efficient removals.

Altogether, I would say I had anywhere between 6-10 total collisions (that may or may not be an understatement). It was BAD lmfao. And I tried to do the math problems but couldn't guarantee that I got them all correct. I maybe did 20-30% of the math? The collisions test was the only part of the atsa that I know I did the worse on, mostly because I'm not 100% skilled on the number pad without looking at it.
Last year I felt the same exact way, thought I bombed the collisions scenario but still got BQ (yet no TOL). I've heard of other people not doing that great on the collisions either and still getting a TOL so no one knows how much the collision scenario really affects your score.

5-6 across both sections.

Overall my efficiency was decent. There were multiple levels where I removed a few extra than I needed to, but I probably made up for it on other levels only removing the bare minimum.

I scored best qualified and was referred last year but didnt find that out until after retaking this year. Unfortunately I only scored qualified this time around. I thought I did better this year too which is strange. Anyway, I emailed asking if they could take last years best qualified and they said only the most recent scores count. They did however mention they are planning another hiring round early next year so there's good news with that I guess. Good luck.
