Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

This was in the email I got after I sent in my pre-employment interview worksheet:

Schedule your drug test now by contacting BAE/EMSI Call Center at 1-866-236-3674.
They are available 24-hours a day/7-days a week. You are required to take a drug test within 5 business days of completing your physical examination.

I would recommend giving them a call ASAP and scheduling your drug test since it has to be within 5 business days of your physical.
My medical exam is not until January

It seems that the FAA has been moving quickly this time around and with the new bid opening in January it seems academy dates might be scheduled quickly?

I know theres no way to tell so I’m fine with speculation, but what are the odds of getting a date before June? I have a 2 week trip to Europe scheduled end of May that I booked before I even applied lol. Good thing my card has cancellation insurance on it but I’d still like to go

like you said, it’s all speculation. That being said I’d be surprised if you made it that far without getting a class date. You can always pitch it to the ATO when you get your class date that you had prior requirements that you’re not sure if you can get out of and request a later date. But then again, getting the process going is one of the harder things so you may not want to. Plus it’s seniority, and while at the academy that don’t mean crap, at your next facility it’ll be all anybody talks about.

either way, you could still get held up by tier 2, flag on your security and require a full security adjunct before you move on etc. It’s all a toss up.

Lol if you tell the ATO you want to defer a class date because you have a vacation planned they're probably going to laugh at you. I mean why not just withdraw your application and apply again in Jan? You'd be almost certain to be free in June.

What if I'm graduating college in May? Would they let me get a later class date because of that? I only have three classes left to take so I would like to finish my degree. I originally thought I would be able to since last year's bid seemed to move a lot slower than this year's.

They’ll probably accommodate for that. A vacation isn’t really a good enough reason for HR to defer someone.

For anyone still following this post who is like me and did not get referred or receive a TOL:

I went through and I didn't see anyone else post an exact date of the next bid other than "January", but confirmed in the tweet below made by the Executive Vice President of the NATCA, there will be another general public bid on Friday, January 24, 2020.

I’m totally with fine with cancelling the trip and I would much rather go to the academy earlier than go on a vacation. I was just curious.

Just got my eqip code, still waiting to hear back from medical. I scheduled my exam exactly 10 days out from when I sent back my pre employment worksheet, their email says if your appointment is within 7 days and you haven’t got medxpress info from them to email them, though I know they don’t work over the weekend. Should I email them again or just give it till tomorrow?

I'm fairly certain I remember seeing someone post here that their POC agreed to push back their start date until after graduation. Might want to try and search on this site

What have people been doing regarding the eQIP and their current employer? Have they been telling their employer before it comes or just letting things happen naturally?

I just told my employer that a questionnaire is probably coming, he wasn't too pleased to hear about the potential of me leaving. Not worried about losing my job though, I'm pretty secure in my position.

My department is only two people, me and the department manager, and we have a good relationship. So she knows about every step of the process I'm going through. The last time there was a possibility of me leaving I specifically told the owners that I just had an interview and that I did NOT have the job yet so it was all still very much up in the air, but they still kind of freaked out and immediately started interviewing people and hired someone so I could train them before I left. I ended up not getting the job, but the guy they hired ended up being awful and after a week he just stopped showing up and ghosted us, so it kind of worked out. Going to be interesting to see what happens when they get that letter.

Does anyone happen to know where the letter come from? Is it addressed as from the FAA?
