Security Clearance Information

Thank you! I'm just curious, what was your situation? Would you be willing to share additional details? My two contacts are my boss and program coordinator from when I was volunteering in Israel for 10 months.
Spouse from a foreign country who now lives in America but has family still there that she keeps contact with. Also I have traveled to 20+ countries. It is more complicated than this but that is the gist of it.

Ok. I appreciate your candor. Congratulations on your conditional clearance. Good luck at the academy.

How long does it normally take for your full clearance to go through? I’ve been at my facility for 3 months now, 7 months since EOD and 9 since submitting eQip. Most of us new developmentals are still waiting, but one guy just showed up the other week and he had already received his clearance at the Academy.
It really depends on each persons background.

Mine took 18 months from submitting it to getting an interview. They don't even tell you if you clear the final background check if you already have a conditional clearance.

You get the raise for whatever you're making and it also moves the bands accordingly.

Supposedly at our facility you have to attend a one on one briefing once your final check goes through.

Going through this thread I feel extremely discouraged. I was arrested for battery last year in July. And have a few things in collections that I'm currently paying off totaling about 3k. All while being married to someone from Ukraine. The Jan 24 bid is my first time applying and seeing that many people here go through a much harder time with smaller things than this I don't think I will have much luck getting through the clearance.

The battery is going to be a no no. Especially so recent.

You'll explain it via a "narrative" long before your interview. Has that happened yet?
No, I'm very far from going through the security process. I just applied to the bid on Jan.24. I think that with my laser engineering work experience that I have a good chance of taking the ATSA. Just concerned about the background check.

Anyone who meets the minimum qualifications for the bid will be invited to take the ATSA.

Did you just get into a bar fight or something?

I hope all of you responding are trolling the troll.

It was a fight with a now ex friend, but the arresting officer was related to my (ex) friend even though I clearly only defended myself. I say clearly because I had bruises and cuts all over and they had one punch to the eye.
All depends on the police report and the fallout of the event. The more vague the report the better for you....you can better tell your side of the story in the narrative you will send in. Also, it would help if this was an isolated event in your past. Do you have any other legal issues, like an MIP or DUI?

No, I have nothing else on my record not even as a juvenile.

I wouldn't sweat it then. Like i said, put a lot of effort in those narratives. Even throw down some character references to back you up. The only reason i'm still in this process is because of those narratives, I made it clear my maturity level has substantially increased and i'm truly sorry for my past mistakes/incidents.

How was the battery charge resolved? Is it a misdemeanor?

It was completely dropped on the first court date because of photos that were take at the jail was I was arrested. But it would have been a misdemeanor.
