The upcoming stacked leave apocalypse

There is a precedent that has been set. Not exactly, but a close model that could be followed.
Meridian Approach. NMM. Used to be an FAA TRACON up until 2016ish. As controllers retired/moved it was slowly turned over to the DOD/military for them to staff.
Could easily be done in a contract world too I imagine. Offer it up to the contract companies, and as the FAA controllers leave, replace them with contractors.
Difficulty would be administering a facility that's part government and part private.
Meridian was a little easier because for the most part the same process applies to both FAA and DOD.

I would say generally speaking we shouldn’t want facilities to close cause that means less controllers and as a union you should be looking to keep as many jobs as you can. But speaking from a “id like to get the fuck out of here” standpoint getting contracted is great for that.

As 32 already said - the union has made it clear they don’t give a shit about keeping jobs.

you also said it yourself, nothing is guarneteed. You can be disappointed Absolutely but I think it’s petty to complain about raises and pennies on your overall lifetime salary when it’s a miracle that we have jobs.
This is what you got out of my comment? “Nothing is guaranteed” is such a terrible argument. I’m saying that just because nothing is guaranteed doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying to make happen.

It’s not pennies. It’s $56k.
Its less than 1 percent of your entire career income and tsp growth Over a 25 year career even less if you go 30. Math you should try it sometime. Do you think this will go on forever?
less than 1% over the entirety of the career, yes. But an increase in pay of 50% of one’s current salary as a trainee could very well be the difference between feeding one’s family or not. Or paying rent or not. Trainees aren’t all D2 & D3s at Level 10+ facilities sitting at home. Again, it’s the people on AG pay that are still bright eyed and bushy tailed who want to do better than barely scraping by.
Everyone’s situation is different and holy shit have I not heard a one-upsmanship event about who has it worse since I told someone the humidity was unbearable in OKC, and they retort with “I’m from the east coast. This is nothing.”

I never said anything about NATCA specifically giving a shit or not, I was only saying that as a union it’s generally considered good to have more union jobs. So closing facilities goes against that idea.

I agree with the first part about fighting, I just think his pathetic 56k isn’t what he should be verbalizing his argument as or stating thats what he is fighting for. Yes the way you message things is important wether you like it out not.

I agree that a 50percent raise is significant. But his D2 pay is currently 100. That means he has two more steps to get the 40k I assume he will be at uponcertification. So he won’t get it all once and is far from certification anyway. And I’ll say this again even with not knowing his circumstances, at 100k that’s enough to “get by” during this time. I know families who make less. Is 32 married? Put your spouse to work. Get a second job. Aside from like 3 centers, they can afford to live.if they are single a small one bedroom is very doable at 100k. Im not arguing his right to fight I’msaying he’s arguing the wrong way for the wrong things That are specific to him. Make better choices for the time being. He’ll still make 5 million over the next 25-30 years.

The last time I trained was November 2019. So sorry I’m so pissed bro. I’ve trained 25% of my time as a controller. This is retarded

sorry then your argument is about training. Not about the money you think you are missing out on. And yes that’s a problem at many places.
No one cares about your money problems or how money hungry you are.

I’ve been complaining about training the whole time. The money is just one part of it. You just started getting all triggered for no reason like your the one that pays us. Still waiting for you to Venmo me 56,000 dollars

32andBelow Actually I merely commented on someone else’s post that losing money was made up for being paid in time not worked I didn’t say I liked it and in fact I believe I’ve stated that I like money too. You were the one who was triggered by that post on this particular thread and spoke up about money, not training because you don’t like being bullied By the more time off people.
#alternativefacts.

Well I’m constantly triggered. What’s your excuse.
