Hiring Bid Experienced bid: FAA-ATO-17-ATCEXP-52850

I was just curious with those couple people getting TOLs if there was certain exp they wanted over others. 5 yrs AF Rapcon, 1 yr DoD and coming up on 1 yr FAA level 7

Not to get too off topic here, but do you mind me asking where you worked DoD? It's been pretty rough for me to get anything with only RADAR coming out of the USAF.

You're currently in the FAA at a level 7 and you applied to this bid?
Negative. A friend of mine that is about to start terminal leave just got a TOL. I just posted to update that TOL were going out. I regularly troll all forums while I await an update on the A80 ranking list

The A80 people texted me, they ranked you last and forwarded your paperwork to Aspen.

I was reading over this thread again and I spoke to somebody yesterday who was 5 years USMC radar @ Beaufort, SC that got a TOL on the N90 Bid.

So it sounds like they were talking a wide variety?...

Yea I wouldn't give up hope. The pay will be difficult to live on to start (D-1=80k) but GI Bill will help with that

I've never received a TOL so I'm not sure about the timeframe they contain, but do you think they will release prior experience TOLs after a pre-determined time. This way they give the N90 people a chance to accept or decline the N90 TOLs? This way they have to commit to N90 or give it up without the comfort of receiving a prior Experience TOL at the same time?

what was their reasoning?
Pretty much everything that's been mentioned with living on long island, along with mandatory 6 day work weeks.

I've toured the place multiple times and it seems like an awesome place to work traffic, but I don't necessarily want to live and breathe atc.

N90 will always be there looking for bodies if I want to go.

You can't have two TOLs at once. Idk if they will issue two and let a person choose. People with N90 TOL will probably not receive another TOL if I have to guess.

I received a prior exp TOL a year after I got an ots one. I got a call from HR and just had to formally state in an email that I was giving up the prior ots TOL.

A little different situation with OTS and prior exp. Two prior exp bids with one to a critically staffed facility warrants differently handling in my opinion. The FAA would be screwing itself to let people choose. Some people chose N90 bc they need to get hired ASAP and it's an option to get in the FAA quickly. If I'm a betting man, they will wait to see who accepts the N90 TOL before issuing another batch or they won't issue two TOL to the same person
