She was in my academy class. Like people said, parents were well-known ORD controllers (something we found out partway through) and she was working as an RPO there before getting hired. Graduated #2 out of 11, went for one of the two non-up/downs on the list (a level 4 GA facility), certified, and she was on ORD’s books literally before our probationary period was over.
Is she a good controller? Dunno, never seen her work live traffic, but she was the best in our class for certain. But more than that, having parents in the agency meant she knew exactly how the NCEPT game works and what to do about it: Go to the easiest tower with the fastest checkout time and put your paperwork in the day you certify. I’m not going to fault anyone for that. I do think there should be a level cap though, on general principle.
