Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

On the FAQ on here it says all military time that is bought back will be applied to the effective start date of the FAA so I'm assuming that means seniority. If thats true I'll be one old trainee lol 10 years!
That will be below every single person that has natca seniority.

It says
Time spent in the military and subsequently bought back, will be added to your service computation date (the "effective" date you started working for the FAA used in retirement calculations).
Seniority starts on your first travel day. I don't think that has changed.
The actual metric is the date on the SF-50 for the first facility assignment.

They need a government issued ID like a drivers license or passport.
Drove 2 hours to the nearest drug testing location today and was told I needed to bring my birth cert to test. Raised a fuss and kindly told them I was only told I need a photo ID when making appointment. They ended up letting me test but was almost a terrible day.

That's strange. They just checked my driver's license when I went for mine. It's good they let you test though

Yeah. All that time sitting in traffic and $10 in tolls to be told I couldn't test because I did not bring a BC I wasn't instructed to bring. I was a little heated haha. Thankfully I was able to get it done. Finished w everything except the wait now.

I’m almost done too I just have to have a blood test on Monday to prove my iron levels are normal cause they were a little low like 2 years ago THEN I’m finally done ?

The benefits at least at the college I went to was that we used the same exact airspace as the academy does for enroute and tracon. We had a tower sim for terminal that used the same exact airport layout that okc uses. They put us through some pretty intense training and graded just how OKC does.
Did you go to kent state? thats where im at now

I’ll be done Monday after I do my drug test. Tomorrow morning I have my physical. Then it’s HURRY UP AND WAIT. I know for a fact I’ll have to take a second eye exam. I can’t see the numbers on the ishihara plates. But defiantly could tell the differences between colors in the real world. Looks like it’s going to be a long wait for me.

Mentioned this in an earlier post, but FYI, a HR specialist told me they were pushing to have people ready for class very soon, "like April". Don't be surprised you're in class sooner than you think, for those done with clearances.

Man that makes me even more sad not to get a TOL for this bid ?

Wish it could be going in April. Just have to wait and see.
