Biden will require federal workers to get the Covid vaccine or submit to testing

Not getting the vaccine should be a choice. However I highly doubt the FAA is going to provide you duty time for you to comply with the testing because of your choice nor should they.
Oh yes they will. 100%. And they cannot require tests for teleworkers, cannot even ask. And teleworking would be a reasonable accommodation for many. So…..
Periodic Testing

Employers should note that certain COVID-19-related inquiries are allowed based on the potential existence of a "direct threat" to the workforce. The EEOC previously confirmed that employers can chose to administer COVID-19 testing to employees before initially allowing them to enter the workplace. The agency clarified that employers can also periodically test workers who come into contact with co-workers, customers and other members of the public to determine if they pose a direct threat. But employers can't ask teleworking employees—who are not interacting with others—about COVID-19 testing. Employers also shouldn't ask whether employees' family members have COVID-19 or related symptoms.

Everyone here is falling for the same trap. Arguing about shit like this to distract and divide us.

We need to stay focused on the true issues like how fucked up NCEPT is and how we were unable to vote on a 6 year contract extension with terms no longer that advantageous to the BUEs.
But they told us Orange Man Bad and Grandpa Joe will be the most union friendly president ever! Biden had to win or we will go back to the white book, remember????

6. If I am required to complete a COVID-19 health screening for myself during the workday, is such time compensable?

Yes, if you are required to complete a health screening during your workday, your employer must pay you for that time. All time between the start and finish of an employee’s workday must be paid unless it falls within one of the exceptions stated in 29 C.F.R. Part 785, such as bona fide meal breaks and off-duty time. Specifically, WHD’s regulations require that employees be paid for time spent in waiting for and receiving medical attention required by their employer during the workday. The same logic applies to a COVID-19 health screening required by your employer during your workday. Other laws may offer greater protections for workers, and employers must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

According to the DOL site if an employer requires you to get a COVID test they have to compensate you for that time. But it says specifically during your workday.

So can the agency require us to test but tell us to do so on our off day? In a way to not pay us? Doesn’t seem like that can be legal.

Weird...what's the definition you were working with?
The one prior to 2019 with a weakened form of the disease
I'm editing to say that's THEIR argument as well

Don’t think it’s beneath the agency or the government to break its own laws.
We literally have a union because of the shenanigans they like to pull.

You know there’s people that want the Union to vaccinate and protect the work force. I wouldn’t want tj be the Union right now. They are gonna piss someone off bigly.

I'd like a hit of whatever you're smoking... if you want to control planes while sitting at home in your boxers you'd better sign up for vatsim, because there's no way your Dell tower is certified to provide air traffic services

Keep reading that link. Point 8 talks about testing on off days.

What they aren't required to do is pay for any copays, as far as I know.

That point aside, forcing us to meet conditions of employment outside of normal working hours is a bad precedent and against DOL policy.
If NATCA rolled over on that, I’d hope there is a mass exodus.

Many, I said Many. I didn’t say controllers did I. If you work at a Center then you know it’s been a ghost town for the last year and a half. We are still at n max telework already. The Dems solutions quite often Make the problem worse intentionally. Just look at the border! They will force people back to telework instead of dealing with taking the experimental shot. Look at the big picture. The regional offices are Still shut down!

The faa can assign you to whatever they want. As long as your paid. Although I’d rage if the anti vaxxers got an hour of OT a week for a 5 minute test. Lol

The VA is already requiring it. Just a matter of time

They have to pay you. If they don’t, that’s the issue.

Big picture here besides your seething rage for people who are making their own health care choices.

First it’s covid testing on your own time.
Next it’s pre duty briefings or drug testing.
Focus on the ball.

He pulled that $hit out of his a$s
Read a bit further and you'll see I didn't. Flight docs being consistently inconsistent.

But you know, fuck around and find out.

pretty sure you can say shit and ass without dollar signs.

They should just do rapid tests at work. They are gonna have no clue how to figure this out over this many facilities. It’s actually gonna be hilarious
They won't try to figure it out for all of the facilities. The FAA will do what it always does. They will make a procedure which works at A80 or ZNY and then apply it to everyone. A week later they will give A80 or ZNY a waiver to not comply with said procedure. Easy peasy.

Something we agree on.
I really hope some busy facility takes several last minute hits from positives. Too late to get OT’s rolling when you lose 2 or 3 on a minimum staffed shift. And then, what if the rest of the crew even though vaxxed worked in close contact with the positives?

Yah the amount of a asymptomatic positives plus contact training might shut down the nas.

if the nas shuts down vaccines will be mandated the next day under like national security or something

The faa ain’t gonna require shit. If they want testing they will be paying me to go through testing. I’m not going on my own
