I am only waiting on my medical to be approved before I get my FOL. The medical department tells me I do not need any further evaluation on the MMPI - which is a huge relief. Now I have a specific time sensitive problem coming up. I am a teacher right now and my contract due date is coming at the end of May. If I don't quit before the end of May then my contract will renew for the 2019 - 2020 school year. And if I leave then I have to pay a hefty penalty back to the school district. I also don't want to get my FOL in the middle of the next school year because then I will be leaving my school high and dry and without a physics teacher.
If I were able to contact my nearest flight surgeon and explain my situation would they go ahead and sign off on my medical or am I just SOL? I don't expect special treatment or anything but is it even worth giving it a shot?
