Does this infer that there are "right" and "wrong" places to apply to? Like DEN is "wrong" because of the demand?
I mean some facilities have 100 applicants for 1 spot. Most of those applicants will never get it ever in their career. The math doesnt work.

I doubt that. The model was specifically formulated to account for COVID, and avoid edits in the future. pretty sure the thing people are complaining about here (like the 2.52 years comment about ZFW deleted) just shows that people aren't reviewing the New Hire and CPCIT training formulas and don't realize that the overall time and rates are now weighted for the ratio of NH v. CPCIT that facilities have.
I don’t understand what you’re saying here

Spoken like a true dickhead. Trying to get you and your family home is “applying to the wrong place.” Is this what you NCEPT reps think now?

You’re sitting at ZDV dude… at least you have decent pay. Fuck everyone else stuck at a low level shit hole am I right? I’ll put credit where it’s due, you’re not in this thread bitching, you’re just a bitch and a NATCA shill.
They should let the 4-7s vote on a temporary suspension of the National Release Policy. So you can all post that Anikan Skywalker meme when they run a few panels and it’s just 200 12s moving around because every manager in the NAS thinks 4-7 means you fucking suck at air traffic.

I think USAJOB bids outside of NCEPT to higher levels facilities in need of controllers will be the future. No more 6 months CPCs at level 4’s NCEPTing to dream level 12s. You want to move up? Congrats you can bid to hard to staff complex 12’s and you can compete on merit because it’s outside the release policy. Look at the ERR demand sheets. A majority wanted to go to the same high level facilities that are pretty well staffed.

Just like before NCEPT

Right. NCEPT is a complete failure. Not merit based at all. Having someone selected because they can get released over more qualified candidates is a shame. The highest scoring academy grads and most qualified prior experience should have the choice to go to higher levels facilities where they will be more competitive for the best jobs. Plus make the 8 year CPC’s exempt from national release policy. You put in 8 years CPC you have done your time at whatever black hole you are at.

I am curious as to why there are so many "low level blackholes". All the academy grads from the past 5+ years have gone to 7 and below and centers. The 8,9 and 10s were hung out to dry. All the people from low levels were bouncing straight to the 11 and 12s. The majority of releases came out of the 7 and below facilities. I know MAF is a train wreck, who is in this boat?
It’s rare someone actually wants to be even close to that facility. Most people go to the first facility with the hope of transferring. Additionally the smaller facilities are usually in shittier areas because just not as many people are flying in. Then there’s the level of it takes forever to train as is and on top of that the experience level is all pretty much new. The second one or 2 hardship/quit/become supervisors. It’s puts transferring to like a minimum 2 year wait if you have enough trainees. If there’s only one or two trainees it could be years before you even have the chance to transfer so it’s kind of a snowball effect where once a couple leave everyone else bails too.

This is better tho. Now they can pay move money and shit instead of everyone just moving for free
