Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

Don’t think there was a second waves of TOL after the shutdown.

Don’t remember the exact date, but it should have been in February.

Edit:
February 25th.

Link for proof.

There was most definitely another wave of TOL's after the shutdown. 2 or 3 people in my academy class were from post shutdown TOLs.

The academy can only handle so many classes at one time, and now the class sizes are getting smaller (9 per class I believe.)

Oh wow. That makes me feel even worse for this bid with my score.

Most of been a handful. With classes being so small now don’t think many people received TOL post shutdown.

Just to give you guys a sense of numbers, here are the numbers from the 2018 Open Source bid. Not all bids are the same, and I’m not saying this will be the same this year.

6,825 Applied
4,968 Selected to take ATSA
3,113 Took ATSA
2,384 Referred
888 Best Qualified
466 Selected

466 selected from both pools.

Man even if you do everything right, it looks like getting TOL last bid is a coin toss at the end. I wonder what types of numbers we'll get at the end of this bid. There have been some new changes this time around such as knowing which type of qualified you are on USA jobs and people getting "Best Qualified", but not referred. The hopeful inside me wants to think that being referred+BQ means a higher chance of TOL this time. However, I'm going to keep my expectations in check and forget about this thread ?.

Yeah, I don’t think it was many more either. Still, I know you can relate to this pain more than me so I won’t complain much, but it sucked watching others who got their TOL in February get into the academy before me.

I thought the same thing too but there are also people who got WQ and referred from pool 2... so I don't know what to think in this situation.

Yea, last 3 or 4 bids have been weird when it comes down to the numbers. So no one knows other then the people who make these decisions if there’s going to be more people selected this round, less people selected, or the same amount of people selected. Just have to let this take its course.

Pool 2 Referred, best qualified. This was my second time taking the test.

If any of you guys took the test in Raleigh on Oct 5th, hope you did well
Oh hey! I was sitting next to you for the test. Thanks for talking us through it beforehand, helped a lot with the nerves. Pool 2 BQ referred, hopefully we'll both make it.

After reading all of this makes me wonder. I checked yesterday and recieved a "Well Qualified" and referred. Does this mean theres still a chance I wont make it? Is there a general time frame I would find out? What ways do they contact usually (email/call/mail)?
Appreciate all the help!

Hope this isn’t annoying but I wouldn’t mind connecting with the guy I took my test with. I took my test in Bellevue, WA on OCT 05 @1pm. Had a great conversation with you prior to taking the test so hopefully you’re on this thread. I’m curious to see your results. Hope this doesn’t sound like a creepy missed connection post lol

Well, this year is different in the sense that the “scores” are out. Last year around February or March, the people who didn’t get a TOL called HR to find out. And what I noticed was there wasn’t many BQ people who didn’t get selected. All posted that I noticed were people who were well qualified or qualified. Now like I mentioned in a previous post. I don’t know if anyone that received a TOL was curious enough to find out what “score” they received. So not sure if BQ and WQ score in Pool 1 got selected, or only BQ scores got selected. Maybe someone on this thread could elaborate on that if they applied last year.

From the looks of it, not many pool 2 individuals got selected last year. Even though it’s suppose to be 50/50. Also, this website or anything you find out in the World Wide Web doesn’t account for everyone who applied. Doesn’t mean it’s going to be like that this year. It’s hard to tell what the FAA is doing year in and year out. You have a better chance of throwing a dart and hitting the center of a dart board, over knowing these hiring trends. I just don’t want anyone I get their hopes up, and what has happened in other pages behind where people were saying to expect a TOL, is just wrong. Just sharing what happened last year from my point of view. If you don’t make it this bid keep applying until you can’t no more.

I am pool 1 as well forgot to mention. Seems that even after all the statistics its still hard to pinpoint what they are looking for. I did the open bid, I understand that if making it I would go to the faa academy. I don't have high hopes just rather know which way or the other since life goes on.

Appreciate the insight! I guess if I dont have an update by next year its safe to say I didn't make it.

Oh sorry didn’t answer your question fully either. So last year from when I took the ATSA to getting a TOL was 2 Months. Got referred on December 16 got the TOL on December 21.

98% of my communication from TOL and beyond has been through EMail.
