Has anyone had their security specialist request additional information due the delinquent debts ? Any tips on how to get pass this hurdle ?
I had this exact thing. Luckily I had finally finished paying them off when my investigator called me. I got pushed through but he said to get any records I can verifying that the accounts have 0 balance. I contacted my creditors directly and had them send paperwork in the mail.

If your delinquent debts aren't paid off, I'd recommend contacting the creditors anyway and making some sort of payment plan. They should cooperate bc at least they're getting something, and then you can show the investigators you're doing everything in your power to get it squared away. That's what I did until I was able to clear them out (thank you stimulus checks).

It's stressful, but you can get away with a lot of sketchy stuff on your e-qip as long as you can explain yourself. I was lucky in that most of my delinquent debt was medical and the investigator was very understanding, but even with the credit card debt I was pushed through because it was paid off. If you can't pay all of it now, I'd recommend prioritizing the ones that make you look the worst. Just get everything in writing as you go.

You can't have any delinquent debt. You have to show effort to mitigate the debt which means paying it off or at least setting up a payment plan.

Me too! I’m a guy, but girls are more organized and better at studying and imma need that in my life ?
Girls night will be a break from studying ? not sure you want in on that lol

I have received intel from my HR rep. Anyone wondering about DF answering, she has answered me within a day. You may have to email her a couple times, she mentioned to me that my emails were going to her spam folder.

Now for the intel... she also told me that training is completely booked through May and they are currently waiting on approval to assign training classes post May. She also further explained that I have not been cleared yet by medical even though everything else has been cleared and it can take 2-4 months to be cleared by medical after the MMPI and Physical are complete. Also mentioned that I could expect a class date late summer-early fall if I’m cleared and the FAA approves more academy dates. Just figured I would share that with y’all since I know people were hoping to get a May slot who have everything finished and are just waiting like myself.

they'll probably ask you for the account number and balances of the debts. they probably also will ask you to get un-delinquent, so contacting the owner of the debt and setting up a payment plan or paying for less

always try settling or negotiating for less - the owner will take what they can get cuz most people don't pay at all
I just experienced this last week. Set up a payment plan or pay the debt off in full if you have the funds available. My security rep just asked for the account info and what my plan was.

The way I’m interpreting her email (I had a similar one, except I’m cleared) is that classes are full through the end of April. Nobody on this site has posted a date past 5/3 and it’s unlikely they wouldn’t hold more classes during May. Also told me that they aren’t giving as much notice because they want to make sure the dates are solid before offering them.

You can see in the catalog they have 3 more classes in may though

Gotta share this, because I almost want to roll my eyes in a funny "of course that's what happened" way lol.

I dont have much negative history so when I was called to set up a video interview date with an investigator I was a little perplexed. All the guides and info dumps on here listing the big reasons why people get flagged for security stuff, I don't fit into at all. I've never even left the country. Heck, I've never been East of the Mississippi!

Anyway, I figured that's why I didnt receive a class date yet while others on the same timeframes as me did. No biggie. Things are still moving fast. The interview begins and my investigator is very friendly and forthcoming. We go over the form line by line as usual, but we come to a point in my work history where he says it appears there is a gap of about 11 months. In my head I know that cant be right, I've never not worked for anywhere that length of time.

When he tells me the date range, I realize it was for a job that I've technically worked at 2 separate times in my life. I'm sure some of you recall that on the sf-86, it specifies as a type of addition to an entry "have you ever worked at this same location at a different point in time?". Well, since I had, I filled out that addition instead of making a separate entry in my work history. I remember thinking that I've never seen that option on any other form I've ever filled for a job, and that it was cool they covered their bases.

I tell him this and he sees the time periods match up and there is no gap. Well he kind of laughs and says, well were just about done then, and honestly, the only reason this probably got flagged was for that "gap". Everything else is fine and just a matter-of-course.

I just cant get over the fact the ONE TIME I have seen a background form offer the option of "have you worked this same job at a separate time", somebody overlooked it and thought I left a big question-mark gap for nearly a year. A bit of irony and classic government efficiency (I would know, I've worked for local government before ? )

Morale of the story: I'm still just happy to be here and I'm glad it was essentially nothing. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
