Government Shutdown

Fiscal conservative bruh. You wouldn’t understan
Correct. In fact Trump increased spending so much and decreased revenue so much that even if Biden hadn’t spent a penny since taking office, this debt ceiling would still need to be raised.
Trump increased spending, true. But revenues hit all time highs as a result of the tax cuts. Source-investors.com

You should look at something more recent than 2018

And here’s 2019, since I’m willing to give a mulligan for 2020 due to circumstances

No, the point was that revenues did increase. The way it works is facts don’t change over time lol
So after a full year of the tax plans we had a 3 trillion dollar deficit. Lol. Wasn’t the plan sold as reducing down the debt/deficit over 10 years?

The whole Afghan campaign supposedly only cost $2.3 trillion. ROI sucks hard on that.

The "debt ceiling" is literally that, and it an archaic concept first started in 1917 and been highly politicized ever since. I think Denmark is the only other country that does it, and even then their ceiling is so high they'll never hit it.

I understand. But the point is all this hijacking the country over the budget/debt ceiling needs to end
Said it has been "highly politicized" in my original post.
No other western country has debt limits except like Denmark and theirs is eleventy gigabillion Krones so they don’t have to worry about it
Referenced Denmark as the only other country and they have an outrageously high ceiling in my original post.

quitting someone doesn’t mean you are immediately arguing with them. You can quote someone to add on an additional comment that is related.

Bro you want me to read posts on this website before I respond??
It is asking too much I know lol

Tax revenues have always increased, even the 2008 recession only caused a loss of $410 billion over 5 years before rebounding significantly.

Meanwhile tax revenue by source has stagnated for corporations and grown for individual income taxes. In fact using the same source, indi ideal income has quadrupled as a source since 1934 while corporate sourcing has dropped, despite the U.S. becoming the economical superpower of the world.

But don't you know corporations are the best thing ever and make low paying jobs that make their employees collect benefits so our tax dollars actually subsidize them because socialism is cool for corporations!

In all honesty Denmark is quite a forgettable place on the heat of the moment
Yeah Denmark definitely isn’t exciting, though the few Danes that I’ve known are good people.
Damn good fall beer
I drink that shit year round. Their Christmas beer gives me a semi. Look forward to it all year.
