NCEPT debate thread

well if the KSN page is current and accurate it looks like the next panel isnt until Nov. so I guess we get to settle in and enjoy the ride lol

EDIT - im a moron and read the Oct/Nov 2018 info. nothing yet about 2019.
You were right the first time Bro, all indications are that the next panel won’t be until around November.

If it helps, looking at all the info for the April panel is was heavily referred to as the 3rd QTR panel. So assuming a November panel is the safest bet aside from a moratorium on the NCEPT process to ease training issues.

It was the 3rd qtr of the FY.

MJ it was original referred to as the 2nd QTR NCEPT was it not? Now everything is showing 3rd Quarter. Even the Union site is retarded with it.Screenshot_20190518-175052_Chrome.jpg

It’s always been under the FY. Q2 was skipped because of the shutdown. Q2 would have been feb and Q3 May, but Q3 was moved up since Q2 was skipped.

What indications?
The chatter that has been on here and general logic based on NATCA and the Agency both agreeing that NCEPT has caused a decrease in full CPCs and national staffing averages. The only way to fix that for now is to stop transferring CPCs (thereby converting them into CPCITs) for six months to a year or so so that all those current ITs can in theory become CPC again, and increase staffing percentages.

Well maybe they should change where they place new hires and take their geographical preference into consideration when hiring and then this movement/transferring of CPC’s might not be such an issue. Fine, give the system 6 months to catch up but this is definitely a symptom of a fundamental flaw in the hiring system. Fix that.

And what about all the places that new hires don't want to go to? They're just screwed. It is literally impossible to make everyone happy. Is there a better way for new hires, sure? Will it make others angry? Yes... there is no perfect solution. And honestly new hires should come last. Let the people who are actually certified and have put some time into the agency get where they want to be first.

You find somewhere in the middle. It used to be done regionally. Send someone from Texas to El Paso if they choose Texas. Don’t send someone from Maine while sending someone from Texas to Bangor
