Nick is skipping a senate hearing to goto ATX in Vegas

That’s insane. Is anyone going to ATX this time? I barely heard anything about it. I remember the first one was pushed pretty hard.

Every union testifying has their president going and we’re sending Dean because Nick wants to goto party at ATX. Sad.
NEB meeting is during this in Vegas. I'm assuming that's why Dean is going instead. I would assume the NEB will probably make some appearances at ATX though or at least at night.

Last I heard it was around 500 going. I have no idea how that compares to the first one.

pleading our case before Congress > NEB meeting in Vegas

Going to be questions about the Newark debacle and waste of millions with almost none of their benchmarks met well after expected dates.

Dean is better to answer and gaslight congress for that than Nick

Yeah ALPA and PASS are dumb for sending their presidents. They should send an employee instead. Nothing impresses Congress more than saying you’re too busy to testify at their hearings

I’d like to know how many first timers go versus how many who are also my ping to the convention and cfs

If he skipped the NEB meeting I’m sure people would say he hates the NEB and just wanted to gladhand politicians like others before him. He just can’t win with some of you guys.
No one would say that if he was testifying in front of congress. Plus he could just zoom into the new meeting or they could reschedule it

The airlines just had a hearing with the same Senate subcommittee a few days ago. Not a single CEO or President went and this one was covered well by the media since it had to do with ancillary fees (rather hot topic for the airlines). Generally speaking I would agree that Nick should go do these, but for one like this that isn't as "public" or "high profile", I'm perfectly fine with Dean going. Besides let's be honest, he probably knows more than the NEB does on these topics. Not to mention, I'm sure the NEB meeting will have items that can actually have an effect on the workforce more than this senate subcommittee will.

Everyone made a big deal out of the first one with assigned seating or some nonsense that was too stupid to follow.
Because grown adults having assigned seating at a meeting is weird

The president of our union should be at any and every senate hearing we are invited too. His stance was he’s going to get our story out there to everyone who will listen. A zoom call into the NEB meeting is available. He was not going to miss a party in Vegas. Not one thing will come out of this meeting that will “have an effect on the workforce” more than Congress can have.

I agree. It’s a pretty sour look when the union president doesn’t prioritize the senate regardless of how visible it is to the public.

If it wasn’t important the ALPA and PASS presidents wouldn’t be going.

So one of two things is going on here, the national staff is embarassed to put Nick in front of congress or Nick just wants to party in vegas

I thought the middle/high school level of dramaticism was crazy in my facility. You guys are at a whole other level with this stuff. I’m sure the Senators, who by the way, never miss a hearing or a vote because of how obviously important their job is as a US Senator and everything else can wait, will be outraged with the level of disrespect NATCA is showing by putting Dean in front of them instead of Nick.
