Pushed to the brink? Another NYT article rehashes all the problems that haven't changed since before Reagan and PATCO

Over 30% of us are ex military. We are more than in touch with having a "real" job. We exceeded that in the military

The military isn't a normal job by any means and that's what was meant by "real job" and I think you know that and are playing dumb.

As for the military, you never negotiated for a salary. You got 30 days of vacation a year. You had free healthcare. You couldn't be fired on a whim just because your boss disliked you.

That shows me you're out of touch.

Also don't try playing the vet card. That shit is lame.
Well you are basically implying that FAA controllers actually have it easier than they realize because having a "real job" is harder. Being in the military is harder than the majority of "real jobs." Yes, I agree Being in the military isn't a normal job, but it's a lot more difficult than the majority of US civilian jobs. The only person playing dumb is you.

99% of FAA controllers we not involved in negotiating their salary so that point you made is pointless. All jobs have vacation and Healthcare so once again pointless. And you can definitely get fired from the military, and it's worse because a dishonorable discharge will ruin your life unless you are Walt Disney lol. Getting fired from Jiffy Lube doesn't mean anything. The only person outa touch and playing dumb is once again you. Then again, you are probably just a troll and I'm wasting time even responding to you.

Its the federal government. You got to prove your requirements have something to do with the job. You'd have to pick qualities that have proof of being meaningful to air traffic. The typical gatekeeping elitist bullshit (educational attainment, CTI degree) has no actual statistical backing for air traffic success.

We had the BioQ but everybody cried about that.
Something tells me you haven’t seen the answer key to the Bio Q

There’s idiots that are dumb enough to pay I’m him
Same, I didn't know until Junior year in CTI I wasn't guaranteed a job in ATC right away. I thought the whole time CTI was literally to prepare kids to enter the ATC world. Lol partially my fault I didn't know anyone in ATC and my high school guidance counselor was a joke.

I know not all CTI schools are the same and it's knee jerk but jfc at lease it's something. Let them go direct to lvl 4,5,6 (imo not 7's) and see if they have it. You cut out wasted time of academy and basics, which those CTI kids should have. We took a FAA exam at Kent in our final semester, the same one at the end of basics/academy classroom, and if you failed you still got your degree but if you passed you got a FAA endorsement letter. Idk if that letter meant anything in my hiring process, but I like to think it did lol

If this goes through, would be nice for Santa or someone to push for re-evaluating CTI programs

What happens to the first CTI student to get a TRB and argue that academy would have helped them? We already have seen this play out with prior experience hires.

Literally just pay the colleges that have sims to teach exactly what the academy teaches. Assign a curriculum and simulators that are the exact same as the academy. Just by doing that you can have probably 15+ more “academies” I think it’s a smart move
I agree. And even now all the same basics are taught at the facility that they teach you in the academy. Maybe they will bring the academy tests to the facility. I don’t remember too many written tests in d side training.

One thing we can agree on is the absolute need for RAZE NAU.

Its really funny that the 2 self righteous haters in that thread shitting on the prospects of a raise are both hardship scammers! One from a 5 to an 8 and one from a 7 to an 8, and yet they dare deign to rain on everyone else's parade from their low cost of living mid level ivory towers? Pshhhh some ppl

Embarrassed Shame GIF
Who are you to judge what someone hardships for? It’s an extremely long process that required a lot of documentation and you constantly talk out of your ass about it. Next time you want to talk shit about it why don’t you do it over my kids grandmothers grave you fucking piece of shit.
