Just out of curiosity, as an academy grad, are these typical schedules? does training happen at all hours? Ill be going to OKC in a few months for enroute. just wondering what I might be looking at if I get through the academy.
If you're not at a 24 hour facility, you won't work openers or closers during training. Each facility will be slightly different (Ex. ZME is busy on Mids). Typically our training shifts will be between the hours of 8am and 8pm (0800-1600, 1000-1800, or 1200-2000). There's no sense in having trainees work when there's a greater potential for slow traffic.Just out of curiosity, as an academy grad, are these typical schedules? does training happen at all hours? Go home, take a 3 hour nap, go to work. Take a 2 hour nap at work. Go home and get another 3 hours of sleep and you're awake at 10am with a normal amount of sleep. How does everyone who has that last day with an 8-hour turn get by?

Recuperative breaks are allowed. Not out in your vehicle thoughAnd are there any rules saying no camper vans in the parking lot???

Haha we just got an in depth briefing last week over the whole subject. Guess somebody was doing something wrongWhat? I nap in my truck all the time in the parking lot
So does this mean its an FAA wide rule??? This will ruin my planning on living around 45 mins from a facility.Haha we just got an in depth briefing last week over the whole subject. Guess somebody was doing something wrong
I don't know many jobs that are okay with you going outside on the clock and sleeping in a vehicle. I'm sure some facilities can get away with doing stuff like that but I don't think many managers would be like sure go out and sleep in your car for a few hours. The CBA says leaving the facility for a short period of time should not be unreasonably denied. Then it says midnight shifts breaks should not be longer than breaks on a normal duty day.So does this mean its an FAA wide rule??? Each place is different. I guess what I'm saying is that your not entitled to that so plannin gyour living arrangements around the ability to take long naps in your truck probably isn't a solid planWhen we are given a break we are given a be back time. So long as you're back at that time they don't care what you do or where you go.
That 1436 shift is blowing my mind. Why not just have your mid start at 2200?Twr only 24 hrs
Fri: 1400/1436-2200/2236
Sat: 1300-2100
Sun: 0600/0700-1400/1500
Mon: 0530/0600-1330/1400
Mon Mid: 2230-0630
Typically 2 CPCs per set of RDOs. The 1400/1436 shift rotate every week. This week I have the 1436, next week my line mate has the 1436.
Sounds like someone was having fun with the MOU.. "I bet they don't even read it... watch this"That 1436 shift is blowing my mind
