NATCA needs to get creative. Bypass the FAA and lobby directly to Congress.
Increase the FAA fee $1 per ticket. Name it the Mike Monroney Aeronautical ATC Fee. Creates a $700 mil pot. Split the pot equally between all controllers as a bonus each year. Controllers who work more than 50% of their time on the boards each year are eligible.
Doesn’t come from congressional funding.
Self sufficient.
Helps level disparity between facilities.
Encourages controllers to stay on the boards.
$40,000 bonus.

Never gonna happen, why bother discussing it lol.
The only thing I could see Natca being able to lobby for us keeping our “step increases” (June 1.6%) when you go up in grade/level.
That would be a nice win for most people who manage to transfer. This way a 8 year level 7 cpc who moves to a center doesn’t certify and make the same amount as some new hire straight to the facility.

Should be hammering the public through all sorts of media. Get some airlines to push raises for us. Get ALPA to push raises for us.

They went about it wrong, granted hindsight bias. They should’ve gone on a general strike with the USPS. Strength in numbers. Imagine if we did that today. No Amazon packages for weeks…
