Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-20-ALLSRCE-65607

Keep in mind, only half of the applicants from this bid got to take the ATSA. I don’t think they’ll issue any more TOLs until the other half of our bid has taken the ATSA, if they even are giving out any more TOLs.
Not sure if their going to give out more TOLs for this bid or have a new bid for this year. How many TOLs went out so far anyone know?

Exactly. Here’s some numbers: not sure about TOL’s though.

8336 applicants
7391 moved on to ATSA (meaning 1,000 didn't meet minimum qual)

Due to COVID
3990(ish) took the ATSA
3400 did not*

From Pool 1 - 131 scored BQ and 63 scored WQ. 273 only scored Q. No clue how many failed.**

From Pool 2 - 424 scored BQ and 452 scored WQ. 1246 only scored Q. Also no clue how many failed.**

* These folks will be allowed to test in the future, and the last bid is still open. They wanted 1200 this year and could reach that number using the BQ and WQ folks above.

Assuming your numbers are correct, I wouldn't be too optimistic about the other half of this bid being able to take the ATSA. According to the workforce plan, the agency was planning on hiring 910 new controllers in 2020. The agency easily gets to 910 with Pool 1 BQ WQ, Pool 2 BQ, WQ, and the experienced bid. I have no idea how many TOL's they sent out in September, but I wouldn't hold my breath if you haven't received one yet.

For the people who were unable to test but the FAA used a previous test score for them, do you know if they're being factored into took the ATSA or did not? Based on your numbers above, there would be a total of roughly 1400 people that did not pass the ATSA. Just over a 50% chance of being hired if you passed the ATSA if these numbers are correct.

I'm pretty sure the numbers are correct, but I wouldn't hold my life on it lol. They came from the President of the Association of Collegiate Training Institutions, (https://www.ctiassociation.org/members/).

TOLs, I've asked and he said they haven't post the numbers. I'm certainly not holding my breath. I'm glad I passed it but ashamed I barely passed it, honestly. I've been doing mind games and practice to help better my reaction time, as I want to believe that's what hurt me the most. But you're absolutely right! They can fulfill their hiring goal with all the BQ form P1 and P2, and WQ from P1 alone, not to mention those they hired from the EXP bid

I’m not sure. That’s a good question

Nothing to be ashamed about. I doubt you did much worse than I did. Its a stupid test that tells you nothing about your ability to become an effective air traffic controller. Onward and upward.

Isn't that the truth ("tells you nothing about your ability to become an effective air traffic controller"). I understand the multitasking portion of the test and I know for sure I could do better on that. I'm pretty good at multitasking in my daily life (I can type a sentence and have a full verbal conversation on a completely different topic), but that test certainly threw me for a loop. First time taking it so I can't be too upset. Thanks for the kind words. We'll get in one of these days, and maybe go the academy together!

The ATSA is definitely an interesting test. I've taken it three times and scored differently all three times (BQ first time, Q second, WQ third). I wouldn't be ashamed at all about scoring "qualified" on your first run - you still passed. Now you at least know what to expect, so keep taking it every opportunity you can.

Oh absolutely! I will be taking it again and again until I either get a TOL or BQ. I do have to ask you, why did you take it again after receiving BQ? Do you believe they change the scoring between every bid?

BTW, thank you for the kind words! I am ecstatic about passing. I guess I was a little too hopeful about getting a BQ after seeing how many people get BQ on their first go round, and I was confident I would add to that statistic. (not trying to sound arrogant, I just try to have a high self confidence when it comes to things that truly matter to me)

What’s up neighbor! ZAU took care of me as well. I think I was one of the first to do it.... MS was telling me that they “updated their system” and long story short it was a 3.5 hour adventure!
hey whats up! yeah i heard from other places they didnt have their "testing computer" but luckily aurora is only about an hour away!

I finally got to reschedule MMPI for the 21st. Was the drug screening the last thing that y'all did ? I haven't received a email about that.

The first year I took it your score wasn't listed on the USAJobs website, it was only a pass\fail. I didn't realize until the day after I got back from taking my ATSA the second time that you could actually call HR and get your score. Of course at that point it was too late, but I remained hopeful that if I got a BQ the first time it should have been a breeze the second time considering how easy I felt it was compared to the first time. I was not correct.

I don't believe they change the scoring from what I've read, I believe a BQ is carried over to a BQ and so on.

Makes total sense why you would've retaken with a BQ score, haha.

Thanks for your info! Glad we're able to see our scores now!

EODS received 12/3/20 all forms were submitted that day. It is now 1/7/21. Anyone in the same boat as me? Over a month now and my forms have yet to move from submitted.. I have TH
I submitted my EODs 11/4 and they were approved 11/9. I also have TH. I've only heard back from her once throughout this process.

Ok I finally got my eQIP and CIL and it is a loooong ass list of stuff to do within a short window. Is there a best order of operations here or do I just tackle it all at the same time as much as possible?
ninerfour's advice was solid. Do anything that involves scheduling an appointment first. And get your MMPI-2 scheduled sooner than later. I would recommend to be willing to travel a few hours if it means a sooner date. I made the mistake of believing them when they said they would call me back to schedule. Wasted a few weeks of precious time.

So the general consensus seems to be that "no news is good news" to a large extent once you have everything submitted, is that accurate? I have my MMPI this Tuesday and then that's it for me. I haven't heard back about anything else I submitted so far, and I'm back to checking my inboxes three times a day to make sure I don't miss anything lol.

You only check your inbox three times a day? I wish lol I'm not about the "no news is good news" I'm more "no news means anything could happen." I completed my MMPI-2 on Jan 6th, and I haven't heard anything from HR (I have TH). I swear one business day feels like a week, and a weekend feels like a month through all this. I saw that people from the 2019 bid got basic (virtual) dates of late June/early May, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for some time this year.

My EOD was approved 11/9
I received CIL 11/24

I am now complete with the process. I was informed this last Thursday my medical has cleared and am now waiting for my security to be cleared.

I also have TH. I would recommend calling for a follow up.
