ASE is not terrible actually. If you like outdoor activities it can be pretty awesome. Just the long checkout time, and hard to leave there due to NCEPT numbers is the problem. The facility is only open 7am-8pm.

Most live 45-60 mins away in Glenwood or Rifle. You can find more reasonable accommodations there. Just be decent at driving in the snow.
