Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-21-ALLSRCE-73599

I used Accurate ATSA Test Prep for All ATC Test Topics. I got BQ. Get the 6-month package. When I bought this in April 2021, I paid $80 for 2 months.
Do you remember your stats on the radar sim game? It would be nice if they offered a point of comparison because I have no idea how I'm doing on that section. I generally get anywhere between 65-70% on collision avoidance and 65-70% on reroute efficiency on the hardest/fastest setting.

I did a few days of jobtestprep.com's version and it helped a ton. Helps you familiarize yourself with the format and pace of the test. Would have probably scored a BQ if I practiced more quite honestly.
Looking back, which JobTestPrep sections would you have focused on the most?

Has anyone began ATSA prep? Or I wonder how many of you do nothing and wing it. I have heard there is only so much you can do to prepare, but that it's generally useful to do so.
I've been practicing for quite some time now since before the bid opened lol. Overkill? Maybe, but I feel much more prepared than if I were to take it blind.

The collision scenario with math?

Also, on the collision scenario are you supposed to choose aircraft they converge off screen? It says on the prepare that I missed scenarios when the planes would only collide in the future after going off screen. Is this how the ATSA test works as well? It only happened a few times.

Yeah. The collision with math was what I was referring to.

I honestly don't do any of the math problems. I just focus on being as efficient as possible by eliminating the least number of planes.

But I've sometimes noticed that some planes do collide at the very edge of the screen, but they don't turn red, so I'm not sure if that counts as a collision or not on JobTestPrep or on the actual test.

I have no idea how the ATSA works. We'll find out when we take it lol.

I've taken it and have 0 idea if it counts. They don't tell you those things.

For the ATSA I focused on the objects and glanced at the math. If it was something easy (almost none of them are) I worked it but the rest of the time I just guessed. My thinking was 25% is better than 0%.

It seems people have been hearing back from USAJOBS; some people on reddit said that their application was ineligible. Anyone else see anything? I guess I should be glad that mine is still under “reviewing applications”

where are you seeing that? hiring thread on ATC subreddit? in any case, it's probably because their application was incomplete or they didn't meet the requirements

The best advice I was given for the ATSA was to not waste my money or time on the ATSA prep stuff and to just get a good night’s rest. Worked like a charm.

Definitely make sure you go into it relaxed. I definitely benefitted from using prep software, but just did it for 30 minutes to an hour a couple of times per week starting long before I took the atsa. If you're cramming last minute, you're just going to stress yourself out. But being well prepared helped me to be confident going into it. Yes, I only got well qualified, but I was also selected and am now awaiting a class date. Never have to take it again. Maybe I was just lucky, but everyone probably knows what type of preparation works best for them. Just do whatever you have to do to set yourself up for success personally.

I saw that on Reddit too. That person posted an update that they forgot to attach their transcript, so that really sucks. I think they were trying to apply with a combo of college and work experience.

Mine is still on "reviewing applications" too, but it def seems like they're on it. I hope the gov doesn't shut down tho. We'll see what happens.

Nope. I focused a lot on the memory/variable games & the spatial/visual relationships. I also prioritized being efficient at clearing the airspace over the math questions.
