Enroute Class pass rate

Friendly reminder from a trainer: If you are passing enroute academy soon do not come to ZMP.
It is a shitshow for training, you won't be able to afford the area with AG pay.

Yes and no in regards to affordability. I live near ZMP and single family homes in the entire metro are definitely expensive but you should be able to find a modest apartment in Lakeville, Apple Valley, Burnsville, or Farmington that isn't more than 30% of take home on AG pay. If you don't mind a 25-30 minute drive, check out the east metro, Eagan and IGH are more cheaper.

This is a lot of centers these days honestly. My facility has multiple trainees who have been in the agency for 3 years and are still on AG pay. Even post-COVID training delays, there’s no effort to push people to D1. Almost the opposite in fact. All areas except maybe 1 needlessly push new D sides to max hours on their first sectors no matter what, and that’s with many people getting <10 hours of OJT a week. Probably gonna have people hit 5-7 years before making CPC at this rate. It’s insane.

so you live in fantasyland, MN?

DM'd you. MN is definitely higher COL than the average but it's not terribly expensive depending where in the metro you're living. If you're single living on your own near ZMP, you can make it on AG pay; That's about what my salary in my current job is while I wait to get into the FAA. Best of luck to you and your training.

so you're not faa, have no idea what's taken out of our paychecks in terms of benefits and live far from the facility got it.

XJ, are you a trainer or trainee? Seems pretty outside of your own interest either way to dissuade people from coming to your facility, unless you're just looking to troll.

Every facility in the country is in an expensive area. That's living on your own now adays. It's like people haven't heard of getting a roomate. Honestly, ZMP is probably in or near the 50th percentile of facilities in terms of cost of living.

Is there any facility that is training and getting people to CPC efficiently?

Not sure about CPC, but ZTL will only have 2 people waiting for a D-side class at the end of January when the current D-side class is over. To provide context, back in June, there were 20+ people waiting on a D-side class so they managed to rush everyone through as soon as COVID restrictions lightened up. R-side class expected early-February.

Most of the people in the previous D-side class are already D1 and working on D2. Granted, they just announced a training hold so that's not going to help. It shouldn't affect the classes though.

Another person not from the area or hears the cries from trainees that has no fucking idea what they’re talking about.
