You should definitely walk in with Pushing Tin quotes on Day 1Damn.. Oh well it is what it is. Again could be worse I'm not even leaving my state. And nothing's gonna stop me from living my dream. I do feel bad for those that really have to travel far though.
"Crisp" high five eh? That's better than one of those half assed sorta missed limp high fives. When you say "crisp" is like in the beginning of Pushing Tin when Nick Falzone is working arrivals for Newark and one of the sups slides him one and goes "I'll be damned!" ???
Lol, except for the part where shortly after the previously mentioned scene, Nick Falzone says "Is that crisp vectoring, or what??? I got 'em lined up like rockettes!"You should definitely walk in with Pushing Tin quotes on Day 1
With you.I got Enroute basics 11/2-11/30 in person 12/8-3/6.
I met with one this week. No word on when it would clear. I've seen reports of people getting all the way to their facility and still on a conditional clearance.Has anyone else had to meet with the investigator in person? How long after your interview were you cleared?
I'm leaving my current job the day before basics starts.I have a silly question. I see a lot of people are getting their basics and academy dates. Are you leaving your current job to do the basics course or do you leave the job when it's time to go to the academy?
Why's that? I guess I don't understand how involved basics is. Does the FAA start paying when basics starts?I'm leaving my current job the day before basics starts.
From my understanding basics will be 8-9 hours a day via zoom and online forms/quizzes. Plus they state in the email for your FOL that you cannot earn paid leave while dual employed. Yes you do get paid the academy rate while in basics just no per diem. Why's that? I guess I don't understand how involved basics is. Does the FAA start paying when basics starts?
Oh ok, I see. Thank you for clarifying. From my understanding basics will be 8-9 hours a day via zoom and online forms/quizzes. Plus they state in the email for your FOL that you cannot earn paid leave while dual employed. Yes you do get paid the academy rate while in basics just no per diem.
Also just a PSA to everybody, I just got an email from my rep to fill out a bunch of forms on EODS before I start basics next week. In the EXTREMELY long email, it mentions it will take at least 3 weeks to get your first paycheck from the FAA. So to everybody getting close to this step, I suggest doing everything you can to prepare accordingly. I just found this out yesterday. That would've been nice to know.Oh ok, I see. Thank you for clarifying.
Anyone else have a similar timeline to this? I called HR last week and they told me that my medical is awaiting review from the flight surgeon still. Seems like I may just be at the very tail-end of this bid or something.
