I'm in the same boat as you, except my medical was 6/17/22. Still waiting on the flight surgeon. I reached out to my HR rep back in August to check in on the status of my medical. They said to check with the medical department directly using the email provided in the initial CIL instructions email. I reached out to them 8/11/22. They said my info is pending the flight surgeon's review and that they couldn't provide a timeframe for the review. I reached out again 9/26/22 and got more or less the same response. I'll give it another couple weeks before trying again.
Thanks for the reply. I may reach out to that email as well just to see what they say.

Anyone else have a similar timeline to this? I called HR last week and they told me that my medical is awaiting review from the flight surgeon still. Seems like I may just be at the very tail-end of this bid or something.

Applied: 7/30/2021 - ATSA Invite: 10/8/2021 - Took ATSA: 12/7/2021 - BQ Referred: 12/17/2021 - TOL Received: 1/31/2022 - EODs Received: 6/22/2022 - EODs Approved: 6/28/2022 - CIL Received: 6/29/2022 - e-QIP: 7/5/2022 - Fingerprints: N/A - MMPI: 7/13/2022 - MedXpress: 7/17/2022 - Medical: 7/22/2022 - Drug Test: 7/28/2022 - Cleared MMPI: 7/27/2022 - Security Interview: 8/8/2022 - Cleared Drug Test: 8/8/2022 - Conditional Security Clearance: 8/22/2022 - Cleared Medical: awaiting flight surgeon review - Basics: ??/??/???? - Academy: ??/??/???? - FOL: ??/??/????
Mine is about the same as well, except I submitted my medical stuff about 1 month before you.

I emailed 10/02/2022 and they told me it's still pending just like the other times I've asked. There's a few others in this bid that have medical issues that I've noticed and the ones that have gotten through seemed to take about 4ish months based on some timelines.

When I called my HR rep, they told me I was at the tail end of this bid as well. I'm in no rush to push this action hard. I'm doing very well at the career I'm in. Originally, my HR rep was KH, but switched to LM. Seems like there as a long line. I completed my medical exam just last month in September.. so I am probably the very last one!

My medical was 5/13 and I’m still pending flight surgeon review.

Also had KH, how did you find out who your new HR rep is? I emailed and called KH but got no response.

According to the discord for new hires, KH is no longer an HR rep. Sorry I don't have a number to call for you but that's why you aren't getting a response.
KH is still an HR but has been out on baby leave for 12 weeks.

He just returned to office on 10/11 and id assume is just trying to catch up.

Everyone is completely backed up right now FAA wide, not just HR.

This probably explains why LM took over for mine.. for how long? I have not a single clue! I'll just sit on my thumb until I hear back! Time to enjoy some time in the Philippines!

I’m hoping he’s just trying to catch up. I knew he was suppose to be back on 10/11 but when you email him his automatic email keeps pushing the return date back.

Appears I was wrong, KH was moved from ATC onboarding and is in another dept now. He emailed me this morning to let me know I was changed to LM.
Ah man… hoping someone reaches out to me at some point to let me know haha. Been trying to get ahold of someone for weeks now to check the status of my application. I got in on the January Exp bid and it’s been like pulling teeth to get an answer

Thats the same bid I got in on. Found out a week and half ago that my med rep never reached out to tell me the flight surgeon needed bloodwork when he requested it in June. Had to call the regional office to figure that out as my med rep and HR werent responding for months.

Crazy how sloppy of a system this is.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. I can relate. Been fighting my medical for 6 months now and just got it cleared. Everything was thru email and I’m like all this could easily be solved with a phone call instead of WEEKS of miscommunication and going back and forth trying to figure out what they need. I hope they figure out a new system in the future because this is hands down the worst. Best of luck to you!

Has anyone did the employment process from overseas or in a different country?
I work for DOD overseas. You will need access to the base to get to the test center. That’s how I did it. That’s for the ATSA.

But for the medical, security and MMPI, you need to do that at a stateside facility. I flew into Guam to make it happen. Work with your hr rep to explain the situation.

Do you enjoy working for the DOD? Ignoring the fact that this is a forum for a different job

I like DOD, I’m doing a non controller job. I’m gonna age out if I don’t try to get in soon. I always wanted to see what it was like to be a controller so now I’m just waiting on my medical. Until then, I’m raking in as much money as I can before I leave my overseas DOD position
