This guys Number 1 accomplishment is getting staffing numbers sort of approved, but not really, that will never actually be hit, and forever stop anyone from ever transferring out of my facility for the next Decade.

I think he is going to make this his #1 campaign promise, that the higher staffing numbers will make for less mandatory OT and better schedules. But it won't, it will only block transfers. ATC is way understaffed now mostly because the FAA sucks at hiring and placement. If we are allotted 15K controllers and only have 12.5K, and our allotment/budget goes up to 16.5K, it means we will still only have 12.5K controllers because if the FAA could hire and place, we would have closer to 15K now.

There was some stuff in FAA Reauthorization which did things like suggest the creation of a second academy or constantly running the current on 24/7 to boost hiring. But good luck seeing any of that successfully implemented during our careers lol.

BTW, FAA Reauthorization is stuck in the senate and probably won't get passed in the next two weeks, they can do a few years of month by month continuing resolutions of the old one.

No. I wouldn’t take a trip to Hawaii with that guy. Nor do I like ‘pay to play’. It’s like people who would correlate pac donations to who should be picked up during NCEPT.
