Pushed to the brink? Another NYT article rehashes all the problems that haven't changed since before Reagan and PATCO

I don't disagree, but paying us enough that qualified controllers don't quit before retirement would be a start.
100 percent. My point wasn’t that we shouldn’t get paid more, but that hiring is such a sludge fest that they can’t accomplish now, there’s nothing that indicates they will be able to meet higher hiring goals In the future, with a faster timeline

There are some ATMs under the old system who wouldn’t put out bids, even when the staffing was dire, bc they thought it told their bosses that they couldn’t do their jobs
Whelp you can still manage these people at a regional level. Everyone has a boss. Make there bonuses about meeting the hiring goals

Yes 2030 should be about the 2007 hires and it’s all down hill from there for the next 3 years. Lots of other leaving before 25 years once they reach age 50 too, It’s gonna look very ugly.
It’s what happens when people get treated like a statistic. That’s okay. I’ll do my time like a federal inmate, and leave and their problems will be exacerbated 😎

Go down the street and survey 100 people and ask them if they would like to make 120k a year, 6 day work weeks and you spend half your shift on break.

No need to survey. 50,000 applied last bid to do the job you complain about on an Internet forum.
