And? I guess that makes his $15 donation important for some reason?

Not mentioning one small detail that is likely entirely meaningless isn't cherry picking facts. If you want to compare harmful rhetoric while trying to stand on the Republican side of the argument, you're in for a losing battle.

Assigning no meaning to a factual detail and consequently not mentioning it is LITERALLY the definition of "cherry picking facts" you dunce. LOL thanks for the chuckle.

Why wouldn't they, a Democrat didn't shoot at him
You watch too much media dude, if you did just a little research on the shooter you’d see that he registered as a republican in 2021 and then donated to a democratic campaign fund that same year, and he also only ever voted once which was for democratic candidates in the 2022 midterms. Immediately assuming the kid was a Republican just because he registered as such is just wild man. A fair case in point, my father has been a registered democrat his whole life and he hasn’t voted for any of them since 2008. You can register with any party you want, that doesn’t mean you certifiably belong to them.

When our alien overlords arrive, I am going with them.
I only bow to those capable of interdimensional travel. Both red & blue MAGA can get f*cked.

Take my like, LOTR will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember watching ROTK on NAS Pensacola, Theoden giving his speech right before the charge, and the guy next to me just passed out and started snoring.

I guarantee I watch less media than you, have not had cable my entire adult life, and there isn't any actual left wing news sources to watch anyways. How about his classmates saying he was conservative?

ChatGPT coming in hot:

The candidates for the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) president and executive vice president in the 2024 election include the team of Nick Daniels and Jamaal Haltom, and Mick Devine, who is running for executive vice president.

### Nick Daniels and Jamaal Haltom
**Nick Daniels**, currently the Southwest Regional Vice President (RVP), and **Jamaal Haltom**, an air traffic controller at LAS Tower, are running together for president and executive vice president, respectively. Their platform focuses on inspiring unity and empowering members. They aim to address key issues such as pay, contract negotiations, mental health, and morale, while advocating for the rights of NATCA members [oai_citation:1,Candidates for NATCA President and Executive Vice President I Team Daniels-Haltom - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lTTSk9NF8Q#:~:text=URL%3A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww,100) [oai_citation:2,Daniels Haltom 2024 - Home](https://teamndjh.com/).

**Pros**:
- **Experience**: Both candidates have extensive experience within NATCA, with Daniels serving as RVP.
- **Member-focused**: Their platform emphasizes direct engagement with members, visiting facilities, and addressing frontline concerns.
- **Holistic approach**: They focus on a wide range of issues affecting NATCA members, from pay and negotiations to mental health and morale.

**Cons**:
- **New Leadership Transition**: Transitioning to new leadership might bring uncertainties regarding continuity of ongoing initiatives.
- **Broad Focus**: Their wide-ranging platform might face challenges in prioritizing and effectively addressing all issues.

### Mick Devine
**Mick Devine** is the New England Regional Vice President and a candidate for executive vice president. Devine's campaign focuses on a fact-based, idea-driven approach, emphasizing the return of pay, benefits, and working conditions as top NATCA priorities. He advocates for a bottom-up, membership-driven union [oai_citation:3,Mick Devine for NATCA Executive Vice President - Devine for NATCA Executive Vice President 2024](https://devine2024.org/) [oai_citation:4,NATCA Leadership - NATCA](https://www.natca.org/about-us/leadership/).

**Pros**:
- **Leadership Experience**: Devine has been the New England RVP since 2018 and has a history of strong leadership within the union.
- **Focus on Pay and Benefits**: His platform's emphasis on restoring pay and benefits resonates with many members' immediate concerns.
- **Military Background**: His background as a Marine brings a disciplined, mission-focused perspective to his leadership style.

**Cons**:
- **Single-issue Focus**: The strong emphasis on pay and benefits might be seen as too narrow compared to other candidates with more diverse platforms.
- **Campaign Style**: His fact-based, no-nonsense approach might not appeal to members looking for more inclusive or community-oriented leadership styles.

These candidates offer diverse visions and strategies for leading NATCA, each with unique strengths and potential challenges. Members will need to consider which approach aligns best with their priorities and the future they envision for their union.

**Cons:**
- **Perception of Effectiveness**: Some members feel that despite his efforts, the current leadership has not sufficiently addressed critical issues like pay and working conditions, leading to frustration among the workforce [oai_citation:6,Justin Dailey and Michael Redmond are the only real options : r/atc2](https://www.reddit.com/r/atc2/comments/1d96d3b/justin_dailey_and_michael_redmond_are_the_only/).

#### Justin Dailey
**Pros:**

### Michael Redmond
**Pros:**
- **Experience**: Redmond has significant experience in both national and local union roles, providing a well-rounded perspective on NATCA's operations. He has also taken a break to focus on family, which some view as a strength, showing his dedication to balancing professional and personal life [oai_citation:13,Justin Dailey and Michael Redmond are the only real options : r/atc2](https://www.reddit.com/r/atc2/comments/1d96d3b/justin_dailey_and_michael_redmond_are_the_only/).

**Cons:**
- **Competition for Similar Votes**: Redmond and some other candidates, like Mick Devine, may split the vote among members looking for change, potentially weakening their overall chances [oai_citation:15,Justin Dailey and Michael Redmond are the only real options : r/atc2](https://www.reddit.com/r/atc2/comments/1d96d3b/justin_dailey_and_michael_redmond_are_the_only/).

These candidates offer different strengths and perspectives, catering to various segments of the NATCA membership. Voters will need to weigh the importance of experience, current operational insight, and the ability to enact meaningful change when making their decision.

One of the major "hidden" gems of living in the Cleveland area is that the Cleveland Orchestra is recognized as one of the best orchestras in the world (typically in the top-5) and every summer they do an outside concert series at an amphitheater (Blossom) in a national park (Cuyahoga Valley); each weekend they perform a live soundtrack while the movie plays on multiple massive projectors. They market it as a family-friendly event and even actively encourage people to pack their own picnics and bring their own wine/booze/drinks with them.

Last summer my wife and I went to their performances of Jurassic Park, LOTR: The Two Towers, and a Disney montage/collection night. It's the closest I've ever felt to seeing a movie for the very first time again and Jurassic Park legit gave me massive goosebumps like I was a kid again. 3 weeks ago we went and saw them perform Raiders of the Lost Ark and next month is LOTR: Return of the King. As someone from Michigan, I like to hate on Ohio whenever I can, but this is legitimately one of the biggest features of civic pride I wish people from Cleveland talked more about; it's downright magical.

Shut up and take my money.

Shut up and take my money.
Being a Detroit kid/fan, I'll rag on Cleveland whenever I get the chance; but, honestly, it's an awesome city for a long weekend vacation when the weather is nice: Cedar Point (S-tier amusement park), Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, summer concert at Blossom, a day hike at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Great Lakes Science Center/NASA Glenn Visitor Center, USS Cod Submarine Memorial, West Side Market, a handful of very good museums, and a hell of a lot of breweries & distilleries.

Rust belt cities are chronically underrated and typically slandered by people that grew up outside of them/have never really experienced them.

Okay but what makes him an “off the rails” leader? All you did was take up half a screen with your own narrative about the guy… ?
I said it in that same quote…

He’s an anti-establishment guy. He does things his own way. He doesn’t care if what he’s doing is the “right” way a president of a union should act. I’m not saying he’s crazy or whatever. He’s just not a “normal” union leader. People that are freaking out about his appearance don’t seem to know this isn’t Teamsters endorsing Trump. The rest of leadership at Teamsters have made it clear that’s not what it is. It’s more just O’Brien doing what he wants. And that’s what the membership elected him to do so they can’t get too mad he’s doing it.

It's actually almost exactly the opposite.
Cherry picking would be focusing on that one thing while acting like everything we know about the guy (registered republican, everyone who knows him says he's staunchly conservative, wears pro gun clothing, on and on and on) wasn't relevant. I guess congrats on being entertained by your own ignorance.

He just said that Biden did more for teamsters than any other president ever has, crazy what happens when you ask for shit

How about a federal agency (USSS) saying his political beliefs contradict each other from his past? People change. And quit with the strawman argument, like there isn’t also news media online (kinda like this forum you spend so much time on). Bottom line is this, dude took shots at a republican, conservative political candidate. That intent is pretty loud and clear. You and the rest of the libtard brigade can try to spin this into whatever you like and play the “It WaS jUsT fIfTeEn DoLlArS” game, but the facts are what they are. Take your “I don’t watch the news cuz I don’t have cable” bullshit somewhere else. If it were true you wouldn’t be spewing the mainstream rhetoric that you are.

Where did the rest of the teamsters say that? I’m looking for quantifiable things like the border patrol union flat out posting that they don’t endorse Biden right after he stated they did during that absolute shit show of a debate. (That last statement was aimed at both candidates)

It takes practice to be as brainwashed as they are…

You just spew right wing talking points, you think you're different but you're not. You'll believe anything twitter or fox tells you to believe. I'm shocked that the side that spews violent rhetoric has one of its own shooting another. Shocked. What does the intent say, please tell me. Maybe he took the kill all pedos to heart and tried to take out epsteins bestie

The political division is awful. Both sides have issues and are responsible for the current state of our country.

Saying both sides in this situation is such an enlightened centrist position. One side spews violent rhetoric for years and when the violence they all call for is turned against them they wonder why no one feels any sympathy. One side actively tries to take away peoples rights while the other one just sucks off corporations, just like the other one does. I wish both sides were the same, if democrats didn't take the high road because they have no conviction we wouldn't be in this shit show in the first place

I don’t wish both sides were the same. I would hate to see racism in every. single. thing. while simultaneously trying to figure out which bathroom I should use. Sheesh. Talk about stress.
