Management wants to kill 4 day AWS.

Follow the money behind these different unions Talk is cheap
Agreed, for me though the principle of refusing to endorse one candidate or the other is higher road on looking out for what is beneficial for the membership (minus, as you said, following the money).

Yea I get that. It’s also different for the teamsters versus Natca. Federal vs non federal. All the different types of employees they represent. Sean o brien made a great speech. Time will tell if any hard line conservatives give a flying fuck what he had to say though. I’ve been in congressional offices, so many republicans want nothing to do with unions.

What he did do was appear to give his conservative members the energy to stay dues paying members.

But again. Anyone can check how much a union donates to a specific party.

I suspect, given time (which we might all be dead by tbh), unions will make further inroads towards the conservative party once pay/representation/ and benefits become more important issues (it will probably take a generational change). Good points all around though.

So great that the Teamsters official Twitter spoke out against him.

He had a lot of good things to say about the American worker and the big business screwing them over. It’s just too bad all the people he was addressing don’t give a shit about that.

But let me be clear, a trump/current republican candidacy is garbage for natca and all 3 million or so federal workers period.

The only hope from something like this is that in a decade from now maybe, just MAYBE conservatives see the value in not disparaging all labor unions and the votes behind them.

The track records of all elected officials is kept, and it’s far and away a terrible look for republicans. That’s why 92% of the teamsters political money goes towards democrats.

Yeah, it's wild to me that people will say , "biden hasn't done shit for us" and are willing to give Trump a go again, who has very specific rhetoric and policies to dismantle unions.

Sure Biden sucks, no arguments there. But I'll take a guy that sucks and doesn't do much for unions instead of the guy who literally hates them. It boggles my mind this is even a discussion anymore.

Here's a nice summary from the AFLCIO of why they are anti Trump. I'd challenge anyone with a list even remotely similar to this from the Biden administration.

Voting for Biden because:

He is the most pro-union president in history (don't ask the Railroad workers)

We love and support NATCA, champion of our continued 1.6% raises

We are grateful that NATCA gave us the opportunity to vote on our 6 year contract extension, which we the membership overwhelmingly passed so we wouldn't have to negotiate with that unfortunate 2nd Trump term

We publicly endorse Biden to really stick it to the Orange Man. We as a union should be partisan, because we probably won't have to negotiate with an Orange Administration and it would be pretty funny to just poke the bear.

We reject the notion that the administration that we endorsed caused, through Executive Orders, sanctions, and policies, the devaluation of the dollar to a conservative estimate of 20%. We endorse them because they say they're the most pro-union administration in history, Jack

We will vote for the current administration because they have been endorsed by our union which has overseen record 1.6% raises and has, until recently, sought to extend the contract again, a vote on which by the membership will be forthcoming

So you think a republican candidate is a better option for the professional of air traffic control and the labor union that represents it ?

I honestly don’t care who anyone votes for. I’m well aware you can’t change peoples
opinions. You’d be surprised what mine actually are.

You’re right, most of us will continue to vote democrat. Trump will win. The union is going nowhere. We’ll continue to bitch about work rules, low pay, and the inability to transfer facilities. But I gotta admit, what’s starting to wear on me is this deal with wide open borders, men in women’s sports, high interest rates, wars, inflation, woke military and secret service…

I had never seen a testicular injury in women's sports before the covid vaccine
