2026 BWS

Gets down to last line.
According to the contract I cannot be forced to work an aws.
Everyone sighs as the process starts over
Have to be careful with that. If its 8hr shifts, all you did was lose the ability to flew and earn credit. You're still working those shifts.

BWS this year has been a shit show. If you are reading this and still negotiating... dont give in. Hold the line.

Credit is not worth working a dumb schedule

So just so I'm understanding correctly, after the BWS shift times are negotiated for the core and ancillary shifts then management can schedule you for any of those 8hr shifts a week in any order changing week to week so long as it abides by crew rest rules?

Our NATCA rep and facility XO came to an agreement but the ATM refuses to sign it. God she sucks.

No. Not exactly.

If the last line is aws and you refuse, then they would have to give you straight 8 hour shifts that cover the schedule need on those RDOs.

Some folks think it’s some magic rug pull, it’s not

Credit is not worth working a dumb schedule
You don’t magically get a non-dumb schedule.

There are lots of people who earn and burn credit, so its important to those people.

Like I said, if bidding gets to you and all thats left are 8hr per shift rattler lines, saying you are refusing to work an AWS does nothing to your schedule. You will still work the "dumb" rattler but without any of the AWS benefits.

Probably by the instruction of thier GM......

No you won’t they can’t make you work 9 hours shits and if they do they have to pay you OT. But like I said this approach really only works if the whole area wants out of it. Or a large portion

Who said anything about a 9 hour shift ? 6-2 day 12-8 mid

I think when 32 is referring to the "dumb" rattler he doesn't mean the normal/historical rattler (which is dumb, agreed) but specifically the "fatigue mitigation" rattler that they rolled out last year. A combo of different shift lengths to make the day-mid legal with the new rest rules.

If you don't agree to work an AWS then you can't work the "fatigue mitigation" rattler. And that means you can't work a day-mid, because the rest rules don't allow for it.
