Was there any amount of studying or anything that could have been done differently for this to be avoided? Reason that I ask, is I have no prior experience and am about to enroll in the academy in the coming weeks.
I've seen a few of your posts and I honestly understand you are just trying to prepare yourself for what you'd hope is the beginning of a long and rewarding career.
In all honesty and I say this with zero malice against point65 but get off here. Sure you can prep somewhat but really? Its like wanting to join the military so you start hitting the gym, taking shooting classes and sleeping outside. Now all you have is bad habits someone else has to break and no one likes a know it all.
Show up to MMAC like a fresh can of untouched play-doh ready to be molded into whatever the faa wants. If you're OTS, take it serious and study, give it your all.
At the end of the day this job ain't for everyone. Some make it some don't, period. Honestly the few that I've run into that "force" this career on themselves (ie not being able to do the job well but slipped through the cracks) walk into the door everyday sweating bullets trying to come up with ways to dodge traffic / certain positions / call in sick on weather days ect ect. They live a life of misery and get trash talked every day.
Getting on here and psyching yourself out because you keep reading about how many didn't make it ain't going to help you. Relax, enjoy your time and meet some cool people along the way. Focus on your task and if you got it, you'll be fine.
