Got my TOL this afternoon. When we make it past these psyche tests, does anyone have idea of how long School is for either side? Tower vs Center? I’ve seen a crazy range of time, so I’m trying to figure out what the family may have to do.

I think they only care about proof of employment. Date hired to last day worked. I’d be screwed if they want any more than that, I have a new manager almost every week and most of them don’t know my name (a good thing in the industry).

Once you start filling out your SF-86, you will have to list your current and previous employers and supervisors.

Nobody, you give them your employer's address and supervisor's name and they send them a letter with questions via mail. They are instructed not to disclose what they say about you though. I asked my supervisor what they asked and she said she couldnt say.

do you know if they send a letter to your former supervisors? One of my jobs during college (about 6 years ago), my supervisor/owner of the business passed away a couple years ago and I’m not sure the business still stands. So that could be a problem with them getting a letter

If you have a college degree, I'm not sure if that matters. I would assume they contact previous employers to verify your work history to see if you meet the prerequisites. Could be wrong though

I haven't heard or seen anyone's previous employer get the letter, but it could happen. The letter is not make or break, the investigators know that not everyone opens their mail or businesses close down. They will have other ways of doing things.

Not sure. I believe the SF-86 also has a spot for professors or people who knew you in college

I received my TOL last night about 7pm EST but of course didn't check it until about 11pm.. needless to say I didn't get much sleep. I aged out in February so it's nice to finally get it after taking it the 3rd time, even though I was BQ the other two times and WQ this time. I'm alright with this taking a while; it took me 3 years to get the state job I have now. Honestly I kind of hope it does take a little while, I need to pay some things down so I can afford to make 1/3 of what I do now for a little while.

Anyway, I'm P2 WQ, last name starts with "R" if that really matters.

It ll only help to have that experience when controlling for newer pilots and emergencies
