In the late 1800s and early 1900s this would have an a significant topic of discussion within the labor force, both private and public. There is literally zero public momentum on this subject right now. And a public union, of like 20k, isn't going to change shit. How about we push on reasonable and obtainable goals?People probably thought the same thing before the 40 hour work week was nationalized. It should always be talked about.
