2024 NATCA President Election

So they're violating their own rule in their favor? I'm not surprised.

Chapter 5: Candidates

For example, the union is bound by a general rule of fairness — if one candidate is given a certain opportunity or privilege then all other candidates must be given the same opportunity or privilege. Election officials must not discriminate among candidates and should not appear to favor any current officers who are candidates

Chapter 6: Distributing Campaign Literature

No matter what the practice, a union has a duty to comply with all reasonable requests to distribute literature and to treat all candidates equally. Any refusal to comply with a reasonable request is improper and could result in the election being successfully challenged

So…. By delaying the period for nominations, they aren’t out of compliance. Your National Executive Board ladies and gentlemen.

What’s the guidance on timeline? Locally we have to abide by a strict timeline and deadlines for each step of the process

If you go by the previous election, the nomination period should start in January-

Then the nominations were due by the end of March

and nominees accepting by April 30th.

So ask yourself, why are Mick and Santa starting so early?

The answer is they are afraid.

They are afraid that the rank and file union membership has realized that anyone else is better than the establishment. So now they make all the promises in the world, now they work for you. Never mind what happened before.

Remember this in the upcoming months.

But would them having the natca distro and using that to campaign not be considered an unfair advantage as stated in ch 5?

Don't let the Hall Monitor Darren's ruin the thread, set em on ignore.

RAISE WHEN is already an unstoppable force that's still picking up speed & larger than any one person. Cry More!

Those videos are like a punch in the face? Jamaal shot 🤣

I see a lot of hate against mick and Rich and I understand it. I need to know who is running against Mick and Rich, so We can hit the reset on leadership in our union. They’re out of touch with the people they’re supposed to be representing. Has anyone else thrown their name in the hat?

Nominations aren’t even open yet. They’re just using their positions to get ahead of the game

It will be interesting to see if Daniels and Jamal swing back, so videos and posting reminding people that Santa/Devine never said a word about pay until a week ago, and that Devine and LoBodvide is the current NATCA NCEPT Rep and the other is one of the architects of NCEPT. Ask them why they didn’t address pay and traffic count/formulas in the past and only talk of it now in an election year.

Hopefully they don’t bow out for “solidarity” like Bratcher did lol.

Also Santa and Devine (among others) were the ones who at pre-convention meetings and at convention made sure we couldn’t even get a real vote on the amendments regarding the membership being able to vote on a contract extension, and all the term limits stuff.

Here’s some food for thought:

Australian ATC:

Canadian ATC:

I couldn’t find any European contracts but I did find an article saying that Spanish ATC overtime rate is 300% which explains those $800,000 a year salaries (starting with already way higher base pay than us).

“Not less than time and one-half.” I think it’s time to start rethinking time and a half for overtime. And I think it’s time for Saturday pay. If we can’t set our base pay outside of the federal maximums then it’s time to start rewarding us much more for the sacrifices we make.
