For those of you who had to submit medical records, when in relation to your medical appointment were you asked for them? And how long did you have to gather them and submit them?
I submitted medical records ASAP, before my drug test, medical exam, and MMPI. Anything that was in my control I did as fast as possible. They never gave me a timeline.

Good to know! I’m just surprised they haven’t asked for anything yet for me. Hoping it means they won’t after all ?? I went into detail about it on my worksheet and stated that everything was resolved, so maybe that was enough for them! I can only hope haha

It's good to have it all ready though, just in case. Have you heard anything about medical clearance?

Nope. It said not to inquire about the status of it until after 45 days from the exam, so in a couple weeks I’ll email them if I haven’t heard anything. I emailed my HR rep but she never got back to me, which is a first.

I just got a hold of my HR rep for the FIRST time since September the other day ?.

Since I'd heard from medical, I was curious about security, but I knew it was too early to ask for an update. So, I called my security POC and said something like, "As the end of my 60 days to get everything in approaches, I wanted to ensure I've submitted all required documents." Worked like a charm. Although I don't know if I'm cleared yet, I got a call back saying that "there is no further action you needed to take" and that my "security background investigation is already scheduled," whatever that means.

Ahh gotcha! That’s good though! I emailed my security POC back in December and verified that he received my fingerprints since USPS is struggling, and he let me know he has all my documents and nothing more needs to be done. My boss just mailed back the letters from security like two days ago, so I’ll probably check in in a couple weeks about my status there too if I haven’t heard anything. He’s been awesome to work with!

That makes me so nervous because my boss told me that he hasn't received anything!

I submitted all my security stuff 6 days before you and my boss just got it. So maybe yours is coming soon. I wouldn’t worry though. My boss joked with me and said she’s going to write on there that they can’t take me from her ?

How soon did your boss get stuff after you submitted your SF-86?

I’m not entirely sure because she was out sick for a little over a week and it was there when she got back. But I submitted everything on December 4th and she opened her mailbox and it was there on January 8th.

Has anyone had experience with having to get a psych evaluation for having a history of taking an SSRI or know anyone that didn’t get through because of it? Just sent my medical worksheet back and they requested it.

I went to the hospital a few years back, i dehydrated myself by working construction and exercising too much and too hard right after. They held me for 4 days to make sure my kidneys returned to normal. Will this disqualify me medically? Nothing else came from it really.

So what happens if all previous supervisors don’t return the forms? I’ve worked at the same company for 3 years but have had 4 different supervisors and they sent forms for all of them but now only 1 still works here.

Everything is up to the flight surgeon. If you made a full recovery your prolly fine. But they will probably ask for the clinical notes/records. I’d start requesting all the records from the hospital you can get your hands on. It can be a pain in the ass. But don’t submit anything to the FS they don’t ask for.

They’ll want all the documentation from the hospitalization and might make you see some specialists to follow up and make sure there’s no underlying issues. If not though you won’t be DQd just from being in the hospital.

They'll understand that they're not going to be able to reach everyone. They probably send out as many as they can to get the highest number of responses.

At what point do they stop waiting to get replies? No one at my work checked the mailbox for the past 4 months so I have no idea when they originally got the forms but they’re sending them now.

I don't know the specific answer to that question but I'm sure they're not going to deny a clearance just cause your supervisors never sent the form in or sent it in months later. I can't imagine an entire security clearance hinging on the response of a few people. There has to be ways they can go around that.
