I was a controller, passed academy in 2018. Training when medical issue forced me out. Since been resolved, trying to get back in. Didn't fully CPC so have to do it all over again.

5 yrs army as a controller. Spent the last 18 months contract ATC. Hoping for Enroute

Same. Looking around though, people crave controllers with radar experience. An up/down would be nice too

FWIW don't select a facility just to get a radar ticket to make you more marketable. These days it's all about certifying fast and being at a facility that has good staffing.

Exactly. Got in and out of my tower before some of my classmates that went to an up/down certified.

Fact. My up down picked up three low level tower only controllers because they could release them.

I've concluded that I'm probably out of the hiring pool with the FAA at this point (Pool 1, Q) and I've already accepted an Air National Guard controller position. Congrats to everyone who is going through and good luck to you all at the academy! ?
