What’s plotting charts?Let's get a LAN going, loser has to plot charts or listen to the boomers ridicule the new gen
It was a joke, us applicants have no idea what the academy entails or what atcs actually do so I was making shit up like plotting charts or negotiating airspace or clearing the tarmac, because it's funnyWhat’s plotting charts?
Nani!!!?? Where are you getting this intel from?!Regarding TOL’s
“Unfortunately, we do not have that information, yet. We’re not sure if COVID-19 will cause any delays this process or not.”
I emailed them. That’s what they replied.Nani!!!?? Where are you getting this intel from?!
In that case loser has to find the key to the approach gate.It was a joke, us applicants have no idea what the academy entails or what atcs actually do so I was making shit up like plotting charts or negotiating airspace or clearing the tarmac, because it's funny
I'm ready. In that case loser has to find the key to the approach gate.
Dang, I only just checked usajobs now as I've been busy. Apparently I'm BQ referred, last time I was BQ not referred. I did not retake AT-SA...
In other news, last month, I started a new job, during the pandemic, in the IT field that pays more than what a long term/veteran CPC would get in a high cost of living area in just monetary compensation. Plus, they have stock options and what have you, and I DON'T live in a high cost of living area.
FAA has also deferred my PPL medical certificate with Federal Air Surgeon's office in DC for nearly 2 years now due to medical history. There has been no formal denial or issuance at all yet. I'd likely have to tier 2 if I were to actually get a TOL and elect to start the process due to the medical history that is causing this endless deferral.
I don't know how I feel about anything anymore...I don't trust FAA as they can't simply figure me out and let me know if I can even fly a plane solo legally in a reasonable period of time, it's like the world is telling me to stay in tech. I mean, I'm ok here as is in tech, but would controlling/aviation be worth risking all I have? Lol.
Dang :/ congrats on your new job!! I’m sorta in the same boat? I got referred BQ P2 and I’m afraid I won’t pass medical clearance because of high blood pressure (if I get a TOL) currently working on it tho.Dang, I only just checked usajobs now as I've been busy. Tier 2 is not based on your medical clearance. You can only get tier 2 if you fail the MMPI-2 (either by scoring too perfectly or having too many odd answers)-it's basically a personality test. And the medical clearance process is somewhat simple if you don't have to do a bunch of running around for medication info from your Dr. If there are any medications that are questionable in your history or any that are not allowed then you could get your medical denied and therefore disqualify you from further consideration..

By any chance, do you know how they measure BP when it comes to medical clearance?Tier 2 is not based on your medical clearance. With how the job market is going, I would say you lucked out with your current job. BUT if ATC is also something that you're really interested (and you're given the opportunity to continue on with the process with a TOL) it doesn't hurt to try for it.
I did my medical back in January so I don't exactly remember, but I'm pretty sure they just used that armband/cuff thing they wrap around your arm and measure that wayBy any chance, do you know how they measure BP when it comes to medical clearance?
