Also, was just reminded of CFS '16 with Paul and Trish mean tweets. It was cute I guess but a huge slap in the face to the membership.
what was this?

It was at CFS this year, I believe.
CFS is awesome... I have been twice. The Archie Banquet alone is worth it. But CFS is what you make it. Some people use it as an excuse to go to Vegas and party. I actually enjoy most of the sessions and listening to the speakers.is CFS worth it to go? I've never been
100% agree. CFS is awesome. Everyone needs to go at least once.CFS is awesome... I have been twice. The Archie Banquet alone is worth it. But CFS is what you make it. Some people use it as an excuse to go to Vegas and party. I actually enjoy most of the sessions and listening to the speakers.
I went for my first time this year. Some of the panels were very dry and hard for me to keep my focus on, but they may have been very good for other people. Other panels and speakers were amazing. The equipment showcases were fantastic (the thing that will replace web scheduler was so cool). It was also just great to see all my former military buddies that are at facilities across the country.is CFS worth it to go? I've never been

CFS is great. But I feel 2017's conference was nothing more than a rehash of the 2016 conference. They talked about collaboration for 5 HOURS straight on the first day. Completely lost me this year.
With the Red, and now Slate book you’re right. It was during the times of the white book and management on a power trip when the union earned its dues. I’d rather have them around and happy with me as a member when that comes back around (privatization etc). I have my issues with NATCA but am not ready to abandon ship. The Union only wants our money, save your money you can put it to better use, and even though you may not be a member you local union still has to represent you. Also if we stop paying them they may realize that they need to get their S*%t together. Furthermore, in my opinion the union only protects the crappiest employees. If you show up to work and do your job then you don't need the union.
Well with natca being the ones trying to privatize us I'm not sure how much they have our best interests in mind. Once we're privatized I doubt the union will have as much 'power' as they do now, eventually it will just be kind of a trade association type of thing in name only.
I am definitely not on board with privatization or NATCA’s endorsement of it, but we do need to be at the table. I believe it is inevitable, they have been trying this for over twenty years. It’s only a matter of time. The way union members feel about the non union workforce will have a big impact on how much work NATCA is going to put forth defending that individual.
