Schedules are negotiating at LOCAL levels just get involved and ve the change you want to see
Tried that. I submitted a hybrid schedule that I saw here with 7 lines of 4/10s to cover mids and the rest 5/8s. ATM didn’t like having 7 AWS and said we would lose leave slots. Not sure our facrep pushed back very hard because he wasn’t thrilled with the schedule. We are stuck with 9/9/9/6/7 that a total of 0 people want…

Then don’t agree to it the AWS

Shoulda told management to eat a dick on that one. Fucker is more worried about 20 leave slots than staffing the middle of the day.

It is literally black and white against the contract. They absolutely can't force you onto on AWS, just like they can't force you into the Maxiflex 40. The reason Maxiflex 40 schedules are negotiated and bid is because anyone who refuses to agree to the AWS can keep the exact same line and just not get to flex (which is also why no one ever refuses the AWS... because it affects nothing other than your right to flex). This new AWS is a completely different beast, it would be like them trying to force you into working 4 10s. It's a complete violation of the contract and it would never hold up

Then don’t agree to it the AWS
I don't think a lot of people realize that anything more than 8hrs in a day or a shift with a flex IS an AWS. I feel like most people think of a 4/10 line as AWS which it is but most schedules are AWS too

Lose leave slots?!?!? That's not how this works. The number of slots is determined by the amount of leave accrued. Take that mofo to impasse.

One thing is if you don’t work AWS you’d get holiday pay for every hour worked on a holiday. So for people that don’t flex and work a lot of holdover there’s that. Or if you work 4 10s non AWS you’d get holiday pay all 10 hours or 10 hours on your in lieu of.
Not sure what you mean here. You already get 10 hours of holiday pay on a 10 hour shift? I've worked 4 10s before and got 10 hrs of whatever for any given shift. Just seems like you're implying you'd only get 8 or something.

I'm pretty sure if your AWS schedule is 4/10s then you get 10hrs. If you're in any sort of BWS or AWS 5/8s schedule then you only get 8hrs even if you get held over for another 2hrs
I thought that was only if you were on compressed schedule

I'm not 100% on this but I think if you're 4/10s you get the 10 hrs of pay since it's your normal schedule and 8hrs you get 8 since 8 is your normal schedule. Kinda like if you have Monday Tuesday off and the holiday is on Monday you have an in lieu of day but if you work OT on the holiday you don't get more holiday pay.

I think that's how it works but not 100%

... regardless if you get held over on your holiday day you should be paid holiday pay on top of the OT in my opinion

I was doing a lot of research since there was a lot of confusion about how AWS worked and this was one of the things I found. But I’m not 100% either.

Yeah I haven't worked a 4/10 schedule and so I just know I get 8hrs and no holiday pay for holdover. Outside of that I'm not too sure how it works

Especially with the new schedules where it's not just 8hrs and most people are gonna be on a 10-9-8-6-7 or something similar. Like do you get a full 8hrs of holiday pay on the 6hr shift or do you get screwed? Do you get a full 10hrs of holiday pay on the 10 or only 8?

Imagine getting holiday pay for 6 hours 😂 it might be outlined somewhere that you get more but that’s just funny.

You are paid holiday pay for the hours you were scheduled that day, you never got two hours of holiday pay if you were held over. That's why this whole potentially only getting 6 hours of holiday pay on a holiday is bull shit
