Trump Proposes 10% Cap On Credit Card Interest

All of these promises sounds like his promise pass another tax cut after the 2017 Tax cuts and jobs act.

Or like his promise to reduce the deficit.

Or like his promise to eliminate the national debt.

Or like his promise to build a wall and have Mexico pay for it.

Or like his promise that he won't have time to golf while being President.

Or like his promise to replace the Affordable Care Act with something "beautiful".

Or like his promise to release his tax returns.

Trump is an excellent marketer and obviously has an unparalleled ability to convince people to believe he is genuine. That is where his brilliance ends.

Grab him by the ballot.

So Kamala making it up as she goes along, and oftentimes just copying Trump’s proposals is the better solution? 8 weeks ago the only thing Kamala had to say was that Joe Biden was the “smartest man in the room,” “the only person to beat Trump,” etc. But now after her (voteless) coronation, she’s suddenly going to fix every problem her/Joe’s administration could have been addressing for the past 4 years? How gullible do you have to be to buy this shit?

It’s a good idea, but takes money away from bankers/lenders so it will never go into effect. Fed rate + 10% cap should’ve already been a mandate. Financial literacy isn’t taught in schools so we’d rather sit here and say people are dumb to have credit card bills so they deserve to pay 29.99% interest versus having a lower borrowing cap mandate and educate people to be more financially sound.

Thanks to Obama, credit cards statements must show consumers how long it would take to pay off their existing balance if the consumer made only the minimum payment, and must show the payment amount and total interest cost to pay off the entire balance in 36 months. I realize people still won't actually read or understand that 30% interest is bad but some schools did teach it.

Now I do disagree with some credit card exploits. Like Best Buy had/has a big one, if you get their credit card you can get interest payments for 12-24 months but if you miss/late on a single payment you have to pay all interest owed over the life of the card. So they exploit those buying big purchases hoping someone misses a payment and now owes like 25% interest over the life of the purchase.

If those greedy credit card companies are making too much money from high interest charges - why wouldn't you get in on the action and buy their stock - they are publicly traded.

Of course if you can't manage your personal finances well enough where you have credit card debt, thanks! In a roundabout way, you are paying me.

If this didn’t kill the credit card industry entirely it would likely pass the money made from interest to more responsible borrowers. If you like the idea of higher fees when you use your card on the retailer side(the cost of which is then passed on to you) or higher annual fees for less rewards then this is for you. Banks aren’t going to offer unprofitable products so they either will get rid of them or make the profit up elsewhere.

This website never disappoints. People defending wealthy bankers/biggest banks in the world because doing otherwise would almost appear as if it was a favorable comment to Trump. Dems, the party of sending billions to Israel every month, supporting Elon Musk with 100% tariff on Chinese EVs, and now backing the massive institutions that have been fucking over the poor for decades. I forgot, it isn't what the Dems do that matters, it's only what they say. Free Palestine and Trump will take away our rights!!! Wait...

We don't give billions to Israel per month. No need in reading the rest of your lies.

Or people just know trumps a liar and almost every benefit he claims he wants to do for regular people has a hidden motive.

What are the options for someone who doesn't believe in giving money to Israel, or not giving banks bailouts, or not believing in tariffs on Mexican made EV cars. Your option is to vote for the Dems, who use progressive talk and follow up on none of it, but at least want to legalize abortion, not take away gay marriage, and aren't a party of religious people who are trying to put their beliefs into everyone's lives. Don't get me wrong the Democrats are not a progressive party. It's a liberal party, and it's why Bernie wasn't allowed to be the nominee. But to act like any person with those progressive beliefs would turn to Republicans for their answers is laughable.

All this aid was passed by a bipartisan Congress. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to be doing?
