Real world checking in again. Why should we even care about the UAW???? It's laughable to think they care about us. The union "brotherhood" between unions is BS. I care about myself and our members. Not someone getting paid $75k to bolt a single wheel on a vehicle every 15 minutes.
Honestly we should care about it. It displays class consciousness. We are all workers. We aren’t the owners of capital. patco’s strike wouldn’t have failed in the 80s if there were a GENERAL strike with other unions’ support. Imagine if the pilot unions and USPS workers all went on strike at the same time in solidarity with PATCO.

If PATCO hadn’t have been crushed, we’d be working 32hr weeks and making 250k base…

Imagine if we weren't a private Union and could strike. We wouldn't be here on .65.
Anything is possible with enough solidarity and balls.

NATCA alone couldn’t do it, would need to join forces with other unions imo. Too many weakass wimps and scabs who would break rank among us who make apologies for the FAA constantly and think we’re overly compensated, at least right now

If 50.1% of dues-paying members striked, they wouldn't say shit because it was the majority. The problem herein lies with your statement about the wimps and scabs.

"Not someone getting paid $75k to bolt a single wheel on a vehicle every 15 minutes." My father was paid middle class wages into the 90s to be a groundskeeper at Ford HQ; he threw his back out multiple times manually shoveling snow in the 70's and went through seven back surgeries, 4 knee surgeries, and has titanium rods and screws fusing his spine together from "bolting a single wheel on a vehicle every 15 minutes." My grandfather survived kamikaze planes on the USS Nashville and was a line engineer with arthritis in his hands and cancer throughout his body from all the chemicals they used that they didn't know would decimate their bodies. Aunts, uncles, and cousins have all busted their asses on the assembly line day in and day out for years; they end the day exhausted and earn their paychecks. Fuck that steaming hot pile of a take.

Fracturing and bifurcating labor only hurts laborers. Negotiating from a position of strength means strength of the whole, not just one extremity. They should care about us, and we should care about them. Teamsters have already stated they won't cross UAW picket lines: solidarity means solidarity, and that is something that seems to be lost on A LOT of people.

That's nice and all. But it's not the 70s. Those people aren't going to bat for us.

You think natca has scammers. UAW and Teamsters say you need to pump those scamming numbers up.

Hey Rich, tell me you're disconnected from the real workforce without telling me you're disconnected from the real workforce.
I'm glad you guys are talking about it here. Apparently mod working for Rich ban people from making new post on Reddit.

I agree with him being disconnected. Have never talked about pay raise until the campaign. And literally just for 12 controllers.

RAZEWEN!!!

youre right man, it’s not the 70s.

Wealth inequality is at an ALL TIME HIGH, WAY higher than the 70s, partly due to the actions of Reagan.

If you took all of Amazon and UPS’s , and all the airline’s profits and gave air traffic controllers literally a percent of a percent of that, we would all be wealthy men

Do you guys want to eat, or not?

It’s not pitting controllers against one another. 🙄 It’s an example of a negotiating tool to fight the FAA for better pay based on comparable numbers and facts. People can take anything and hear what they want to hear.
The FAA number system is awful. If those FCT towers are pushing more airplanes they deserve more money…also there’s a lot of other things that go into that are they matching benefits? Does it cost more to live at the FCT than the faa tower. Dude is trying to fight the faa by shitting on other dues paying member and that’s not the way to do it.

Think we all know and recognize, the proper tactic is demanding a raise for ALL controllers. Not just mentioning the low levels, or fct , or whatever. I truly believe every single controller in the NAS a deserves a solid bump and there are very compelling arguments for us as well.

Biden literally just made huge pro union comments in favor of the UAW. We need to strike while the iron is hot and demand what is rightfully ours

Santa should be blasting on all media fronts about how we need pay bumps now

Also never realized til today that FCT's have an identity crisis. They're contract towers for a reason. Why not make IAD an FCT? ORD? DFW? ATL? If FCT's are so desirable lets contract out the core 30.
