CPC reinstatements

Someone has to work at these facilities right? I’m pretty sure the agency wants to consolidate a lot of places, that should help.
That's debatable. I think low level radar facilities are better off consolidated and some towers level 4 and 5s shouldnt even have controllers there. There are contract towers pumping out way more numbers then these faa towers for absolute dog shit pay which is infuriating for everyone.

Should the contract towers be faa ? Is that what people are mad about ?

What are the age requirements with reinstatement? Do you still have to be under 35 like prior experience or does it have something to do with how much time you had already worked in the FAA?

Once you are hired onto a 2152 position, whether it's DOD or FAA, your age is locked in and you can return even if you're past 35.

That's how I understand it

You just need to able to have 20 years of civilian federal service by age 56. If you had 10 years of service from age 25-35, then left for 10 years, you could still come back at age 45.

hey everyone I am attempting CPC reinstatement and I was prior rated at FXE and been out for over a year. I also was told I’m pending a TOL for the public notice bid and was asked which route I wanted to choose. Does anyone have experience or a recommendation on the path to take? I’m trying to go to either VGT, SDL, TUS, PAE or BFI all in order of preference. I heard you can work directly with a facility of your choice as long as they accept you and they can gain?

As far as I’m aware of most recent information regarding reinstatements, it depends.

1. As it stands currently, the fact that you’ve been out for over a year means you’ll get a list offering you the same FPLs as the facility you resigned from and below. (In your case FXE would mean 7s and below for you)

2. The whole applying direct to ATMs thing is only for veterans that were military controllers seeking initial employment with the FAA. That’s how I’ve understood it from several NATCA briefings. Good luck.

What about vets who were CPCs* in the FAA but resigned? Lol

I’ve been told (for what that’s worth) that the direct hire authority for ATMs is only for military controllers who separate and are looking to jump over to the FAA.

I suppose the plausible part of that comes from this being vaguely written per usual so HR can continue their shady bidding.
